What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3099

Town days means late beers. This was the first new craft brewery in the province, I took Tim Webb here when he came over for a visit.

 

Hmm, I do sorta like them all. But, I came to the Games late (age 33) with no throwing background (wrestling/baseball) so I suppose I like the less technical events (caber, WOB, Braemar stone) over heavy hammer, heavy weight for distance, etc that take more finesse and footwork.

Edit to add....since we're talking Scottish heavy athletics...

Im always curious to try a different style from a brewery that mainly specializes in one, Like this lager from Tilted Barn which up until recently has been mainly an IPA brewery.
The color seemed to be a little strangely tinted at first but I think it was just the light.

Pours a clear dull yellow with just the slightest hint of orange?
Head is snow white, creamy and has good retention with nice rings of lacing.
Aroma is lemony, crackery, some dough, grassy and floral.
Taste follows w crackery grains, lemon zest, fresh cut grass, a little hop nibble just perfect.
Feel is light, crisp, drying, decent carb.
A pretty good lager. Im liking this one. It really is a great lawn mower, beach etc beer. Like it says simple yet surprisingly complex. Goes down easy but no adjuncts, no diacetyl, clean lagering. 4.8%. My only criticism would be just a tad more on carb. They also just brewed a dark lager using the base beer. I will have to check that out.

Sadly I will not be buying this one again. It is sour but leaves a weird taste behind.

 

I started drinking so quickly I almost forgot to take the photo! Mango Contango, a NE IPA hopped with Motueka and Wakatu, at Bull n Bear Brewery. For a brewery that loves to make euro pub brews, this is damn good. Cheers!

 

I went to university and was friends with a serious lifter (he was a monster) and occasionally spotted for him when he was in a pinch, although being a cross country/road race runner at the time I would have been of little use if he had ever gotten in real trouble. Cheers.

 

I was able to catch San Diego's very first No Hitter just last week!

I now have a date in about 2 weeks to get my first shot. It’s sounds like Moderna is going to be the cocktail served that day. I’m not sure how to feel about it...I’ve heard a few people mention that one hits you like a truck on the second dose. Only one way to find out.
