Cold & rainy day here, definitely felt that Old Rasputin was a good fit to warm me up.

 

It may be early, but I’m ready for my nightcap - CCB’s Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout (2021 Lottery):



Poured at 52°. Cinnamon and hot chillies nose. Taste follows nose, with bitter sweet dark chocolate. Great stuff! Time for Jeopardy!

 

I picked it up 40 years ago when I was in Germany (actually West Germany then) with my Grandfather. It has been on the shelf until now. Wrapping up my first week here. Thought I would bring it out and use it.

 

First beer after a long day of work. Off now until next Tuesday!

 

What did you think of the Viking Space Probe? I just picked up two bottles for the fridge stock on impulse, based on its good BA rating.

Dream Crusher is definitely one of my go to's! Never disappoints.

 

Holler Looyah one of the only traditional English Milk Stouts around. Not an imperial stout with lactos, not a ton of other additives or flavorings, just straight forward and excellent. For some reason its all gloomy and kind of rainy, and actually colder that usual in Houston, so this works.



Next up the always popularly named Margaret Thatcher Naked On a Cold Day. English Bitter served on cask, and is again excellent.

 

Pre tax at the closest dispensary. You'd almost have to be in the 1% to afford it. I just spent like $30 for an 8th this morning

Next, wondered over to Good Dog to get...well a good dog and a beer.

512 Pecan Porter, one of the all time classic Texas beers and breweries. With an Ol Zapata...which is bacon, Munster cheese, caramelized onions, pickle relish, and of coarse house made dog. With hand cut fries.

 

I really like Victory but for me this was a misfire. A bunch of floaties and a flavor that for me made me think of not so perfect homebrew.



Did a pivot and went for some Beer’d. This did not disappoint.



I’m working on my tambourine riffs tonight.
