Crappy, cold, raw, windy, rainy day here in Central Ma. Good time for a beer and since I just replenished my supply, I'll make it a Hippie Chick ...

It feels more like late October than Memorial Day weekend. The rain has stopped for now but the temp is currently 55°. It's supposed to rain tomorrow so I quickly cut the lawn and weeded. Time for some liquid refreshment. Untied Brewing's What About Us. It took about 3 weeks but the honey is now in full effect. Cheers!

Saison Dupont for me this afternoon...I'm sure some more later but I always enjoy this over a long Saturday afternoon.

Spinning a wonderful Matthew Shipp album The Reward. Solo piano suites. Recorded on a tiny French label, only 500 copies made. Can't find these anywhere on the web to share, but he did a trio album with the same label and around the same time. Which are great and unique takes on Ellington tunes, that is on you tube.

Hop Project's Dank and Sticky. Last one... I was pretty disappointed by this last batch.
    But hey... it's beer.
Alright-y -- got my last 8+ miler in and next weekend is the half-marathon.
Strange but exciting times and looking forward to doing some kind of public, outdoor, race event. Been like 13-14 years since I really 'raced' in anything (other than low-brow 5Ks).
Running by myself these past 14-15 months has also left me rather clueless as to what to expect for a result...(even tracking with my smart-watch, which LIES so hard), so just looking to have a good, brisk time...

    Cheers

    Whheee-yewww…
Sometimes you need a big quarter to withstand a 7-3 deficit in the second half where you barely had the ball in the offensive zone.

My blood pressure is so high, figured thinning out the blood a tad might help.

Still missing one of my packages from my Sierra Nevada order, a problem that I think lies with the shipping company. Unfortunately and of course, it was the most wanted and expensive item in the order.

Probably watch this next game but the BP won’t hop on the roller coaster again until Monday.

Fine mahogany brown body, crystal clear; thick and frothy off-white head. Excellent dark roasted malt aroma; a hint of chocolate. Sweet and malty flavor; cocoa and light milk chocolate; subdued hop bitterness. Medium body; smooth and rich; semi-sweet mouthfeel. Medium body; smooth and silky rich; a slight dryness yet with an overall light sweetness.

This is a fine, gently sweet and hearty lager, not too heavy or rich yet flavorful and very satisfying.

55.6 F; no bottle dating information available.

Had to look up the tie-in to my home state’s marketing, apparently it’s a collaboration with Crooked Run from nearby. Also sounds tasty from reading your review. Cheers!

Next a collab between Old Schoolhouse and Imagine Nation, No Cause For Alarm. It's a pretty average murkbomb.

From pint can with no date code marking.

Pours into my pilsener glass a clouded tea-like shade of light brown with golden edges. Cake-like tan head and foamy lacing. Looks more like a dunkelweizen.

Scent is banana, lemon, chocolate, nuts.

Taste begins as banana bread with nuts. Lemon. Tangy wheat. A hint of chocolate. Nicely tart. A good level of spice - pepper, white pepper, coriander; allspice perhaps? Very little bitterness other than a mild tea like note.

Mouth is slightly creamy but on the lesser side of medium. Short finish.

Classic hefeweizen with a spicy emphasis. I prefer a creamier feel and longer finish but certainly a very good ale.

Another impressive HOMES offering from @BigIronH :
I’d call this a hybrid hazy. It’s got a lot of fruit (definitely tangerine, maybe a bit of guava and apricot) and juiciness up front with a fairly pronounced bitterness on the finish. I like it but it’s kind of a Jekyll and Hyde beer, where the two sides aren’t really integrated.
