Tried a Hubbard's Cave's, Fresh V41, an Imperial IPA with Cashmere, Centennial, and Citra, brewed at Une Année Brewery LLC in Niles, Illinois. Loved their Framboise, a wonderful raspberry kettle sour, this ... meh. No production information, so no idea how old this is, but you ship cross country ...

Starting my beer day with a can of Fortside Pilsner. It's OK-ish enough, it's beer.

80 degrees in Michigan today so cooling off a bit on the deck. I vaguely remember having this beer at a MBG summer fest years back so I grabbed a bottle. Arbor really does some nice sours and this one is no exception. Cheers all.

Anchorage Brewing Co. -- Doomed (imperial stout w/vanilla and coffee)

Tar black body, opaque; relatively thick, brown head on initial pour, fades to a thin yet persistent wispy layer. Heavy dark chocolate and cocoa aroma; fairly bod coffee scent. Intense dark chocolate, vanilla, and coffee flavor; almost bourbon-like; low-key bitterness offsetting the rich sweetness. Heavy, sludgy body; dense residual sugar presence; heavy sweetness and dryness combination.

When I think of an imperial stout, especially one fortified with coffee and vanilla, this example is what I'm looking for. The density and depth of appearance, smell, taste, and feel are phenomenal.

    Poured at a relatively chilly 50° F.

...a phenomenal beer as it opens up with some warming...

About 90 outside, so a lighter beer is again in order.

Pours a clear and very light golden color. Lots of carbonation in this beer that produces a 3 finger white head. While looking at this beer the carbonation bubbles just keep rising in the glass. Decent cloud like looking, and there's a bit of lacing on the glass as the head dissipates
The nose is pretty malty. Lots of bread/biscuit aroma in this beer, that also has a slight butter note. I also get a slight earthy aroma to this beer, that I'd guess is from the oak.
Taste - Very full of a wood flavor here. This flavor continues throughout. On the back it has a slight malty biscuit flavor. There's a slight wild flavor going on here.
The body is very crisp, and I really feel the carbonation here, which tickles my throat.
    Tasty, and delicious beer.

Splitting another big stout with my partner, post-nap. I feel much worse after the nap, even though I needed it.

I told the wife to get me some bourbon and beer and just gave her DHIIPA for info sake-
I would say with help there (likely) she did pretty well -
First time for this one, but pretty damn good for us Jerzee brewers

    YACHT JUICE
    DOUBLE DRY HOPPED IMPERIAL IPA
    ICARUS BREWING LAKEWOOD, NJ

now I just need a yacht - maybe a dingy would do

Really good juice right here - Rich amber color with big head and smells of multiple hops and lupulin -

    Highly recommended !
My next one will be even better as I LOVE really cold beer , especially on a muggy humid day like today -
One more 16 Oz and a bourbon and might get crazy enough to cut the grass with the grand push mower :wink::stuck_out_tongue:

    CHEERS !!

[IMG] Ice Cream Man to kick it off. Too sour, not enough cream. But, it is citrusy, tart, and refreshing. The cigar comes later, boys. Cheers and enjoy the weather wherever you are.

Usually how it goes with me. Naps seem like a good idea at the time, but always end up ruining the rest of the day

Oh hell yes! This is amazing on this hot day. As an added bonus, how could I not like George Washington holding a Bald Eagle, and a gun, with the flag in the background?
As an added bonus, my ancestor hired him to survey his land in western Virginia (now West Virginia) back in 1751.

    Hell yes!
