or more recently (Ha! ≈25 years ago) covered by a band I followed locally, recorded at Chord on Blues, in St. Charles. This same spot is now Pollyanna's third brewery, opened in 2019 and they began distilling spirits there this year.

New Trail Shades DIPA. After being kind of in love with New Trail since last Winter, I started getting a little nervous when their last two DIPAs had an overripe cantaloupe backend. Not terrible by any means, but not their typically seamless integration of flavors. Happy to report that Shades is on point; maybe not quite at the level of Goggles, but pretty close. Gonna buy more when I see it. Cheers!

 

Having an Apricot Soak sour wheat ale right now. Might have to cut up some more cheddar for this, pretty tart and tasty stuff. Cheers all!

Second and final beer at Revolution, Riot. This is an annual release that celebrates Riot Fest, which will return to Chicago after a one year hiatus.
