Larry thanks for sharing an amazing video! CCR and the Vietnam war go together like chicken wings and beer, perfect. Until I read the book SOG by Major John Plaster I had no idea how screwed our troops were over there. The days before our spec ops guys went on a mission we told the South Vietnam command where our guys were going (thinking they were an ally), not knowing that they immediately told the Viet Cong what was going to go down. Thank god you're here with us and providing some amazing content for the BA site, cheers!!!

Thanks man!! Definitely interesting times. I watched 3 B52's take off every hour loaded with 500 lb bombs 24 hours a day for a year - that's a shitload of bombs!.

I worked defensive fire control systems so we were responsible for the tail gunner's radar systems and 50 caliber machine guns in the turret, as well as all of the hydraulic and pneumatic systems related to the turret.

We were the ones who went out and armed the guns as well. I have to say, those were just incredible planes - the fact they're still in use today bears that out. Cheers!!!

 

Well the Chickpea & Artichoke (idea addition) curry came out great and it pairs well with
Station 26- Juicy Banger IPA - The flavor notes are numerous with a nice spicy curry and lots of IPA notes.

Super cool info, things we did at the time and didn't really realize the gravity of them. I saw the B52 that is on static display at the Orlando airport approach and land years ago. Low and slow with dark smoke coming out of all 8 engines, it was huge! Being in a situation to handle the live munitions and load them up is a lifetime experience. Cheers!!

My Dad was at Ubon in 71-72, he was a lifer by that point. He was First Sargeant in a Munitions Maintenance Squadron ( F-4s )
