    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.75 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

    Pitch black body; rich and densely thick khaki colored head; sticky and lasting. A wondrous smell filled with roasted and charred grain notes; rich chocolate; roasted nuts. An amazing flavor full of rich chocolate and cocoa tones with a heavy, heady presence of pistachio and hazelnut; full, earthy sweetness; moderate alcohol presence; very mild suggestion of bitterness. Heavy mouthfeel, rich and chewy; sludgy residual sugar feel; boozy warmth permeates the sweetness.

    This beer oozes decadence and deliciousness. Its imperial stout base carries the addition of the four nuts utilized in the making of this beer, with everything nicely and proportionately balanced.

    Poured out at 53 F; no obvious canning date although there is '2020-1' printed on the label.

    Fresh is good, yet, in my opinion, six or even nine month old 'Lunch' is top notch (much like I find Russian River's 'Blind Pig' or 'Pliny the Elder' at those ages).

    These beers aren't like New England or hazy styled IPAs that generally lose a lot of their allure after about a month.

    But, yeah, if you're patient and can find it fresh, go for it. Many times it drops around Colorado Springs at about a week old (just like the Russian River beers and, on those rare occasions The Alchemist Beers like Heady Topper and Focal Banger for NEIPAs)...

    That's good info. I was wondering about how they age. Some of these breweries hurt themselves with the "Drink Fresh" slogans. I never really know what they mean by "fresh". I'll drink a 9 month old lager and rarely can tell any difference. But with the Pale Ales & IPA's, I'm never really sure. It's good to hear from someone who has drank something frequently.

    I would image so. It's pretty funny how things work over time. My dad bought my mom a brand new baby blue 1966 hardtop back in the day. Go rid of it in the early 70's. Totally regretted it later! Cheers!

    Drinking my last can of Ten Fidy from 2016. I definitely prefer this stout fresh I think. Having some Lagavulin 8 on the side to spice things up a bit. Cheers everyone!

    And this is purely anecdotal, but I've talked with a few other 'knowledgeable' beer gurus who share the same opinion. It ain't gospel, but it ain't shit either...:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
