The GF decided to return to the cabin to fix up some things we noticed after our trip a couple weeks ago. I didn't want to deal with the drive or take an extra day off, so I stayed home. Even though I've "planned" a lazy weekend, It May Get Loud right about now.

Although I will sorta be with the GF in spirit, finishing off some of the beers I brought back from the last trip:

Steady Eddie uses a personal favorite of mine - Sorachi Ace (which comes to me as a similar but less "sweet", more herbal version of the newer, I believe, Montueka hop).

Happy Saturday BA's! Overtime done, sheets in the dryer and shrubs along the pool enclosure cut back. NODA Brewing Radio Haze, hazy and juicy, I really like it!

How do you do today Advocates?!! Thanx @Ozzylizard for starting today's thread with that scrumptious looking Shipwreck Porter. Hoping for more rain here today and it appears we may get some (rain) Dehydrating 3 full trays of peppers today. 2 trays are all ghost! Yowza! So the story here behind the Bud Light silo: I helped my 78 yr old neighbor the other day and ystrdy she drops off a case of Bud. Sweet! @Squire this Bud's for you my friend! It's a good light beer (I adore light beers) and it'll make some damn good Cheladas.
    Cheers! Keep on smiling!!

I might have to pick me up a pack when I go out today. Gonna be honest, I’ve passed it up in favor of new to me and other favorites for probably about the last year. I do know there’s a good bit of variation batch to batch on it. I enjoyed the stuff I had last time quite a bit. Cheers.

I’m at Four City Brewing in Orange, NJ for its 2nd Anniversary celebration. Having a couple of pours before buying new releases. First up: Wha Gwaan?, an American IPA hopped with Mosaic and Ekuanot. It evokes a pina colada amd has a great mouth feel. Cheers!

3 new ORIGINAL east coast beers that I loved
    Rainbows are Real
    Clown Shoes | 6.75% | IPA

    look: 4.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25
14th Review. My 5th from brewer, in this case, where I rate higher than BA avg. Here’s why…
    a) Massive, dense head and lace over a hazed apricot body.
    s) Apricot & Peach prevail along with hempy notes.
    t) More complexity, floral, hemp, spice, grass, spice, spruce, juniper. Definite grasshead but lovely.
    f) Luscious. Terpenes doing their calming work.
    o) I love it when I find an original, pleasing take on NE IPA, this is it.

    X | Carton | NJ | RIS | 11%
    look: 4.5 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.75 | overall: 4.5
1st Review. Going back for more. Ink black 10th anniversary RIS from Carton.
    a) Thick without being a milkshake, stand up dark tan head over india ink body.
    s) Malt, wood, smoke, licorice.
    t) Follows smell as a kind of hard toffee, let it melt in your mouth candy that’s bittersweet.
    f) Thick and meaningful. Contemplative.
    o) Mystical X.

    An Iota | Carton | NJ | Farm | 5.1%
    look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25
1st review, enjoyed at brewer, fresh. A farmhouse beer with strawberry, pear, yeast, and socks notes.
    returned, re-reviewed, re-upped. *(at brewer)
    a) Classic Saison pale translucent.
    s) Strawberry, pear, yeast, basement, socks.
    t) more fruit. complex.
Is it a beer for keeping or a light-hearted farm beer?
    f) True to fizzy, prickly saison, but light and easy.
    o) Interesting and complex. A happy beer.

I'll admit to being one who was "disappointed" on his first chance at getting it - back in a time when I believe hyped beers meant something different. I still quite enjoyed it, though, and would get some every year. For a long time, I still wasn't as appreciative as I've now become; it's a beer that impressed me more over time and gained personal experience. It's also gotten a little cheaper, which helps

Not many day drinkers today. That's okay, I'll try on my @JamFuel impression and throw in as many posts as I can on this first page :grinning:

I miss seeing Union's great beers more regularly around me, including the last (which I am pretty sure is a spring/summer seasonal) and this one. Double Duckpin is a great classic/standard DIPA.

One of the new releases at Gour City is Black Market Bitter, an English Bitter brewed in collaboration with The Alementary in Hackensack. Nice American take on the style - it’s dry hopped with Mosaic and Amarillo, which adds a nice dose of bitter citrus.

Dropped the daughter off at gymnastics class. Zombie Dust and two rounds of Golden Tee at the pub next door. We have a weekend guy at our show room who works for Golden Tee as a day job. If I ever meet him, I will punch him in the back of the head and then shake his hand. The game is so infuriating and fun at the same time.

Bonne après-midi, Mesdames and Messieurs. Drove back from Ann Arbor back to New York last Monday, turned north to hit the Bullfrog Brewery in Williamsport, PA, and brought home this delicious trophy, Le Roar Grrrz Framboise, a raspberry gueuze. Enjoying it immensely on an unseasonably cool, overcast August afternoon on the East End of Long Island (NY).

Stay Safe, Mighty Fine Beer, and Sláinte!
