Attended the Welcome Party for Deschutes in Chicago tonight. Had 2012 The Abyss, Black Butte XIV on tap and Obsidian Stout on nitro and brought home a bottle of 2012 The Abyss as well as Black Butte & Mirror Pond. Now enjoying Southern Tier 2XIPA:

I'll have to admit, I didn't like this at first taste, but it didn't take long to grow on me. I think I'll have to get about 1 a year when it comes out.

Started tonight with a Firestone Walker 14th Anniversary on tap at my local pub. A couple years does wonders. Now onto another great beer, Alpine Pure Hoppiness. I'm spoiling myself tonight! It's almost vacation (next Wednesday) for me so cheers!

No beer is too good to mix. Nothing is quite as fun as blending beers that the brewer never thought possible!

Started tonight with a bottle of Sweetwater Festive Ale. Now I'm finishing a bottle of Sam Smith's Chocolate Stout. Not particulaly impressed with either beer.
