Just looked again and now Cerebral's Celestial Origin has popped up. Barleywine aged 16 mos in TN whiskey barrels. @SFACRKnight any opinion on this one? EDIT: JK. Sold out already. That was really fast.
Ha ha ha! I was just playing along with your vintage joke. My original post was a great pumpkin reference. The kids all talk about the candy they got after each house and Charlie Brown always gets a rock. Anything from Cerebral is worth grabbing. They're one of the best locals to Denver.
I have ben ordering from this company for over two years . They helped me get thru COVID 2020 and I was able to get over 1200 new bes to my list. Al the beer descriiptions are good. The one thing I like about them is they charge you for the beers as you order them . This way you know you will get them. Some charge you when you submit your order . Then you find the beer was no longer available. I would rate them 5 stars
I bit the bullet and will do 1 crate cuz i want other stuff. Got a couple Adroit Theory Coven Russian Imperial Stouts so far. Twice what Dia De Los Muertos cost me but its hard to get for my guy and they're amazing. Will pay 11.99 for one
My tavour feed goes mead, seltzer, cider, mead, seltzer before I see a "beer" which is a pastry stout. Boooo!
I hear you. I'm loving the pastry seltzers too! I average a beer or 2 a week worth considering. Still makes for a nice enough crate every couple of months though. The ability to slowly accumulate is unique and still makes the app worthwhile imo. Last winter was pretty great, for barleywines in particular, hoping for more of the same again.
I agree it would be nice to see a more diverse set of styles offered, though I did notice Urban Chestnut's Oktoberfest (Oachkatzlschwoaf/O-Katz) pop up just this afternoon to my pleasant surprise.
Way too many pastry stouts, mead, seltzers and ciders. Still waiting for a non adjunct imperial stout to appear
Am I the only one getting blasted with pastry sours? Their algorithm (or whatever they are using) is garbage sometimes. It's probably my least desired style of beer. Also, Smooj. Just stop please. I'm also seeing lots of mead, but if they want to keep giving me Schramm's that my stores don't see distro of at the same price Schramm's is actually selling it for, then my wallet will just have to accept this arrangement. I had that WW Flapjack pop up that people were saying was in the secret stash recently. Passed on that one.
Same. Havent seen a stout i want in weeks. All i have are pilsners,ONE pastry stout,ONE imperial stout,a saison, and ipas in my box
That's what I'm starting see, too. I may have to cancel my account if this is their idea of beers (or other beverages) that I would enjoy.
Man y'all are cranky! I'm on the opposite side of the fence. It's a relief sometimes when a week goes by & there's nothing I'm interested in. While Tavour has largely replaced trading for me it's still an expensive go even just grabbing one or two items a week. I just ignore all the stuff (Smooj, wilds, etc.) that don't interest me. Heck, you can usually tell from the alert that you can ignore something (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, don't have to look at that to know it's a sour!).
That's my point. I haven't seen anything that interests me in weeks. Every ipa is an imperial new England variety, every stout is pastry. I didn't join a beer app for seltzer, or mead, or cider. There have been few other options in months at this point.
True, but just like almost every brewery in the country they're undoubtedly chasing trends that make them $$$$. For everyone like us who doesn't enjoy the haze craze there are problem 20 beer geeks who won't drink any other kind of IPA.
Their alerts crack me up. They're meant to entice you and 99% of the time all they do is immediately turn me off of whatever the item is. My last crate only had three things in, but they're all fun - ADWTD TO, Supermassive Cafe Deth and Fremont 12th Anniversary. Thankfully Tavour doesn't put up all that many things I'm interested in so I manage to not spend TOO much money there. This box was expensive as hell for three things, but ADWTD was most of that, obviously.
Needs more stouts. I assumed that since it has a large audience there'd be more variety. I was wrong.
I don't buy more than 99% of the beer at my local beer store either. Also, Supermassive Cafe Deth was really fackin good.
I'm ok with lots of seltzer now because I can pass on them and start saving now for all of those holiday bundles that will drop in a few months!
