My supermarket always has Edmond Fitzgerald Porter and I have never tried it. I
figured today if it was on the shelves I would grab a six in honor of the day. Sorry
I waited so long, what an excellent porter. This has a best by date of 4/17/22

We've got Fieldwork, Alvarado Street, Moonraker, etc out here in California. Not to proud to say that I wish we could get our hands on Bells, Great Lakes, 3 Floyds, Cigar City out here. I get envious when you guys post these WBAYDN shots.

Take a "field trip" vacation to the midwest brother. You've friends all over in the beer world! I too am envious of many Cali brews that won't come to me. It makes them all that more special to acquire and share. Salute!!

Beer #2 from the Advent Calendar:

    Dry Hopped Pilsner.

    Yeah, another that is good.

This beer is from their 2021 Advent Calendar.

This beer pours pretty clear. Light golden color. The head is 1 finger and white. Retention is decent, but there's no lacing on the glass.
Aroma is as expected - straight up malt, bread biscuit.
The flavor is like the nose - malty, bread, biscuit. There is, however an interesting flavor that hits on the black. It's a pepper like flavor. A bit strange, yet interesting. I'm really getting no hops, yet, it's billed ad dry hopped. Not expecting a lot, considering the style, but was expecting some.
The body is light, and crisp feeling.
For what it is, not bad at all.

Just tried Dank Tank from Diner Brew Co. in Mt. Vernon, NY. Really a remarkably refreshing and light, yet fresh hopped IPA. Going to try to get some more. Always had a soft spot for Scare Crows:

I remember the following couple of days well growing up in Saginaw Michigan and peddling the Detroit Free Press as a 12 year old, reading the headline as i was folding papers. It was so windy on the 11th which was not fun riding my little "banana bike" with two bags full of papers. That day always has stuck with me as has the Lightfoot song has always been a solemn reminder.
    Cheers,
    Tom
