    Clear, dark brown body; lively carbonation; one-finger thick head, light khaki color, dense and foamy. Pleasant gingerbread aroma; brown sugar. Exquisite taste; gingerbread and leather; moderate bourbon note; traditional Xmas cookie spice character. Heavy body; silky; big alcohol heat presence; mildly sticky on the palate.

    This is one tasty sucker! The ginger, allspice, nutmeg and cinnamon are nicely integrated into the base beer and nicely counterpoint the barrel-aging character of the beer. Depth, balance, and complexity definitely exist with this Guinness offering.

    If Guinness stays out of their own way, and actually puts beer out on CO2, instead of that awful Nitro crap, they make pretty good beers :slight_smile:

    The can slid down and fell forward just before I shot this and just as my wife walked in and saw how precariously I had the glass and can wedged in the garland…and she expressed her concern. :neutral_face: So I probably won’t be taking any more beer pics in the garland on the mantle for a while.     ...now, there's my all-time favorite album...

    ...when I croak, there will be no religious ceremony or other such nonsense...no, my remaining beer, bourbon, and stogie stash will be open to all, and 'Montain Jam' (plus other variants performed by the band through the years) will be my soundtrack to be played at any sort of memorial gathering...words, testimonials, dancing and any other heathen-inspired acts of debauchery will be left to the few that may even wish to commemorate my passing...other than that, just scatter my ashes from the covered bridge over the Mohican River in Ohio, and I'll rest peacefully...

    ps—I had Pliny at the source on multiple occasions, heck I even drove across the country with a few cases packed in ice. Unfortunately, I live in moonshine country, so there is no distribution out in the boondocks, but I’ll whip out an equivalent beer, Hamm’s! :grinning: Cheers!
