Good afternoon BA's, good to be hanging out this afternoon! Another unseasonably warm day in Western NC with temps in the mid-60's, which is warmer than where i was a year ago in PHX which is sitting 10 degrees cooler LOL!
Anyway, today's first choice is from Founders who unless they decide to go down the wackadoodle route on the base beer churns out seriously consistently good barrel aged beer. Brown ales are a very good conduit for adjuncts and barrel aging.


Listening to Sirius XM's "Lithium Just Music" channel and am currently enjoying Pearl Jam's Once. Much respect for Pearl Jam as for the most part they did not go down the path of totally selling out!

Have a good Tuesday. Slept til 1230pm or so. My nephew woke up a little later and has been playing games. I have lyne running over steam streaming. Project Zomboid crashed when I tried to ruin it. But I played it all night, then was watching a friend stream icarus until 430AM. Been having a good week off so far.


Bonkers only sits next to me when my BIL got home from work lol. Or if she's hungry.


More delicious bodhi. My dad made the tin of pb blossom and Reese cup cookies. He does it every year now. Probably made 4 times the amount in the tin. I need to workout after this week lol.

Urban Chestnut Zwickel, one of the best lagers made in the US IMO. Considering I easily get and drink Live Oak, that is saying something. Always wish I picked up more whenever I do find it. Starting Denis Johnson's poetry collection The Throne of the Third Heaven of the Nations Millennium General Assembly. Wow, what a title

Toppling Goliath - Sun Reaper

Pours into my tulip glass a clear bright brassy gold with a creamy ecru head. Streaks of fluffy lace. So nice to see a clear body after all the opaque hazed IPAs

Scent is muddled tropical fruits and citrus - papaya, mango, pineapple, orange. Vanilla.

Taste is again tropical fruit and citrus. There's also some stone fruit - peach, nectarine? Very little bitterness. Oh there's a hint of green melon - just noticed that.

Mouth is dry and quenching which is rather nice.

It's certainly a very good IPA but it doesn't knock my socks off like King Sue does.

 

My second-to-last gluten free Grapefruit IPA from Ghostfish, paired with Spirits of the Apocalypse bourbon. This is such a great way to make an unalluring beer interesting. More words here.



PS: Ghostfish is 100% gluten free beer, if that's interesting to you. I think their menu is also 100% gluten free.

 

Equilibrium’s Harvester of Simcoe is a tasty ( and very pricy) DIPA -with some EPL football, Cheers
