    This poop deck photo composition would have been better but the wind blew the cork and cage over and the pirate slid forward a little. I couldn’t wait because the rising head was, you know, completely out of control. Cheers!

    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

    Coal-black body, opaque; thick, light khaki head, dense and creamy. Rich aroma blending sweet chocolate and cocoa notes with roasted peanuts. Big dark sweetness and booze flavor; undercurrent of roasted peanuts; cherry peeking through the depths. Heavy body; thick and sludgy; dry, slightly rough residual sugar feel; boozy warmth tempering the sweetness.

    Leave it to Avery to brew a unique and tasty dark ale. The milk chocolate, cocoa nibs and peanut presence along with the bourbon barrel aging are evident. Raisins were also used, perhaps what I pickup as cherry is the raisin. Regardless, this is a beautiful monster of a beer.

    Liquid Mechanics Xmas Anarchy Project from last year after taking some outdoor decorations before the snow hit. Barrel aged with ginger, orange zest and cinnamon. The barrel gets lost in the adjuncts but it still works pretty well. I can even tolerate the ginger which I often find overbearing. It's quite warming and perfect on this cold late afternoon.

    First post covid beer, I didn't lose sense of taste or smell but that said it did impact it.
    Most things taste a bit off which seems to be a lingering effect of covid for me as well as insomnia which I never suffer from[​IMG]

    Dinner prep beer (thankfully, almost all the prep/knife work is done :rolling_eyes:) - BCBS Proprietor’s (2019):

    The best by date is 27Sept21 so I figured I should rid the cellar of this aging turd…Poured at 53°. First whiff is bourbon, then coconut right behind. Entry is chocolate bourbon bourbon balls with coconut sprinkles on top and vanilla creme fresh inside. The pecans are at the party in a “I’m toasted” wallflower “can I sit this one out?” kinda way, but the bourbon/chocolate dance elegantly with the coconut at this party in my mouth. I’m saving 1/2 of the bottle for tomorrow and I already can’t wait:stuck_out_tongue:!

    Relaxing with this nice IPA from Imprint. One of their best, IMHO. And yes, I said IPA. Not DIPA, not NEIPA, not NEDIPA. Calm the f*ck down people. At the end of the day, it's a f*cking IPA. Do you like them, Hunter. You bet your a$$, I do. Always. Sometimes. Rarely. Never. Circle one, please. Cheers!!!
