A big thanks to @jonphisher for the chance to revisit this Yards Washington's Porter 10+ years after the only other time I've had it. My scores were pretty close, I did bump the Appearance number up, and it's still a nicely enjoyable brew.

 

It brings me great joy that these pics were posted within 12 minutes of one another.

Amazing peanut butter, nose and taste! Lots of chocolate fudge, with bourbon lurking in the background, but make no mistake, this beer is all about the peanuts!

Meh…kind of underwhelming but crushable

 

Turns out I'm gonna be in MX for a few more days. Currently having a quick bevy in the hotel room before heading out to wander the city. Modelo Pura Malta. Not bad alongside a nip of tequila. It's not bad, it's not necessarily good, but it fits the bill for a Mexi-lager. Just a bit more color & flavor than the Especial.

The truth is that I should be on a plane back to the states at the moment but after 3 positive tests yesterday I'm still here. I got the missus (who had no such positive test results) to the airport and on her way a few hours ago. I'm about 90% certain that I got the virus while back home. On day 2 of my trip I started feeling some mild symptoms that felt just like allergies. Apparently I was wrong. I'm fully vaxxed and boosted, and I didn't feel much in terms of symptoms - so I'm definitely lucky in that regard. At the moment I'm symptom free. Now I'm just bored! Also, please make no mistake - I knew this was a possibility when traveling - I'm definitely not asking for any sympathy here. In addition, when I do leave my room I am double masked and I simply go out to wander the streets/parks here in this lovely city while keeping my distance from others. Cheers
