Drinking Bellman, 6% abv, 13.1% plato, from Carlsberg Sweden. A higher abv light lager which delivers a fuller body and stronger bitterness compared with a regular Swedish circa 5.2% Export lager. The IBUs are probably around 28-30 in this beer as the bitterness acts quite drying after a few cans, despite the fuller body which initially verges on some sweetness (when asked the brewery replied that the IBUs are between 22-30, which no doubt means it is at the top of that range). There is also a mild but balancing hop flavor in the background, they are obviously using hop pellets late boil as opposed to using only hop extracts which prevents the beer from feeling one dimensional. Apart from the slightly elevated abv (an Export lager historically might be around 5.5% abv at a similar OG) I think this is a solid and credible Export lager.

Thank you. I’m 6’1 and weigh 275 pounds. I should be 185-205 so I set a realistic goal and create a plan that shouldn’t effect my health just a calorie deficit. I’m blessed by being genetically very strong without even working out last workout was years ago I was able to military press 200 just for example so it’s exciting to see what will happen once I’m done cutting I’ll be lifting. I do not want to enter my 30s this overweight. Thanks again.

Another weekday - another frosty hike in the snow with my pup Emma....tough work, but someone has to do it, right?

Picked this up after the walk - seems appropriate to our NE OH weather lately.....

Four Fathers '21 Wheelhouse Imperial Coffee Stout w/ vanilla bean. This brewery is pretty local to me and very solid, but I've just dragged on going out there. Believe the double barrel aged version of this won bronze at Festive of Barrel Aged Beers in Chicago back in 2018, which is kind of a big deal especially for a small brewery like them. Found a single of this on the shelf of my go-to spot, so I decided to give it a try. Been a good 5+ years since I've had this one, but I remember being blown away by it.

This is definitely a coffee lovers beer. Huge quality roasted coffee aroma and taste. The coffee is slightly earthy and fruity. Very slight vanilla bean comes through on the finish as it warms. The base brings dark chocolate, fudge, some dark fruit, slight tobacco, roasted malt, caramel. Not as good as I remember, but I've had too many coffee stouts to count since I last had this one. Still is an awesome beer. I've got to give them a visit soon.

Skullers IPA at Skagit River. Memory is an odd thing, but I'm not sure this matches up to the OG version.

Odd13 Codename: Holidayfan. The final can dated 11/10/21 that has become even sweeter with age. I enjoyed it better fresh but it's still a really big sticky 10% beer where a 4 pack is plenty. Measuring the ceiling for materials needed in the home gym I've been constructing. I better measure three times.....

Really well-done NEIPA from Brazil. Quite a positive surprise and my 30th country tick.

Spartacus Brewing - Survival (NEIPA): This makes for quite an enjoyable New England IPA with vibrant, juicy hop characteristics and a great, full and pillowy mouthfeel.

They didn't brew too many beers that wowed me but BA Wheelhouse was my favorite. Before moving I lived around 3 miles from their current location. I stopped in last summer when visiting the area as my bro still lives there. See ya next summer!:beers:

Good afternoon BA's! Cool day in the low 40's with sunny skies in Western NC.
Today's choice is a local from Waynesville which is west of Asheville. The good folks that brew there are very consistently good! This one is a nice gooseberry-citrus hop combo - very crushable at 6.3% abv.
    Cheers!
