@BeerVikingSailor always love your pupper pics.

Mine always gets excited when it gets "cold" around here cause I bring out the big blanket my Grandma made me decades ago, and he just wraps himself in it.

Happy Friday BA's! Trying out another beer from a newer brewery in Atlanta. Pretty solid beers so far. Good Marzen, unique Oak aged Marzen, solid Dunkel. Now an Export Helles (sometimes know as Dortmunder. This was difficult for me to rate, but I think I learned something about scoring. This beer checked all the style boxes correctly, well balance, drinks nicely and no flaws. But I really didn't enjoy it like I do most German style lagers I drink primarily because it's a little more bitter than I like. I scored it high on the four characteristics, lower on the overall because of the enjoyment factor. I think that's fair. Cheers all!

Heady is an interesting beer. I know it's billed as a NEIPA, but it seems the NEIPA moved a bit away from where Heady is. That's good observation that it seems closer to WCIPA than NEIPA.

Alesmith Nut Brown Ale. Always love this one. Finally wrote a review for it ha...

Oh, and it looks like @beergoot is going all in on one of his favorite artists, I'm doing the same with one of mine. Miles Smiles, original pressing still in original shrink wrap, with hype stickers ha. I can go into a deep dive analysis on all the albums from the "Second Great Quintet" from Miles, but won't bore everybody

    Review of Alesmith Nut Brown:
Pours a dark brown, with some ruby red highlights. A dense beige head rises to two fingers. Excellent retention and rings of lace left behind.
Aroma is nutty, chocolaty, grainy, almost a bit too grainy for my tastes. Though the roundness of the malts does develop more as this warms.
Taste wise, oh, all that wonderful malt flavor. Toasted, nutty, chocolate. Espresso, but without the big roast. Maybe just a touch of earthy bitterness.
A medium body with good carbonation. Crisp, but ultra smooth as this breaths. So well rounded, warming and inviting. I can come back to and drink this all day.

A great English Style Brown Ale, and has long been one of my favorite American examples of the style. Not sure why it took me so long to review it, but it is a really good example of the style. Always highly recommended.

Overall score 4.24, a solid A from me.

The lake I live on is a bit tricky for ice fishing - the northern part - where I live - has a river running through it from east to west, so the ice is always a bit dodgy.....at the south end of the lake - a couple miles away - I have seen some shantys and guys out fishing lately....I may venture out Saturday down there

Yikes! Well being the warm blooded born and bred Georgia boy I am that definitely sounds too tricky for me. Let us know what you catch if you go out.

Got my new Ludwig snare in today! Been waiting three months for it. Very exciting. Having a pint of Nomad (a Czech style dark lager) while I get her tuned up.
