    Good afternoon, all! I'm drinking Hopslam, with lunch. Not a good idea. This is too overpowering for a chicken wrap and fresh-cut veggies. At ~2 months past the canning date, the hops have fallen off a bit. The lovely bitterness is still there, though, and that's one of the things I love about this beer. Cheers!

    This is one of the most delightful new beers I’ve had in awhile. This winter has been a high time for shelf beer in my house…Nugget Nectar, Double Nugget, Hopslam, Double Dales, Box of Hearts, the SN hoppy mix pack, and now this stuff.

    Jet black body; opaque; excellent head, dense and creamy, light brown in color; thin sheets and rings of tan foam decorate the glass. Cocoa and bitter chocolate greet the nose; light touch of whiskey. Intriguing taste; chocolate with a spicy, rye-like note; peppery; heavy whiskey aftertaste. Heavy body; weak, velvety feel; sludgy residual sugars; moderate alcohol warmth.

    A nice, straight-forward barrel aged imperial stout. I'm guessing bourbon and/or rye barrel aging.

    went to a local spot and got a couple. New England IPA. 40 IBU. Fruity and Juicy. Went down very well. No aftertaste.
    Getting my Certified Beer Server. Studying Glassware. This glass pictured above was called a Voltaire to me. Looked on several sites and cannot find. Ciserone.org does not list it in their beer glass guide. Was told this one will be on the test. Any help appreciated. Need confirmation of glassware name and style.

    ...I also have handtools and such from my father and his father (they were mechanical engineers, tool designers, and machinists) - I still use them to this day...my mom's father was a doctor, so nothing from that side of the family...

    Good afternoon BA's, a wonderfully warm sunny upper 60's-degree day here in the southern Appalachians after a rainy early morning!
    Today's first choice is from Victory, their holiday rendition of the Monkey series. Definitely a warming Christmas beer with the holiday spices of cranberry, nutmeg, and cinnamon. I would have this again, ideally when the weather is about 30 degrees cooler!
    Da Boss is listening to classic rock this afternoon and a timeless song is playing and despite how many times i hear it i never tire of it!
