I'm not a big fan of fruited beers but this is number 2 that I found to be well done here at Akademia. Helles Babes with Peaches 5.1% ABV. Helles was a great choice to showcase the peaches. Enjoyed this one.and will leave with some.

 

Schwechater Wiener Lager.
Not bad at at all. And for only 89 cents ...

Good evening everyone, Advocates!
My after-work beer today is one of those I always enjoy drinking, even though I've been drinking it for years now:
Poppels Bryggery AB (Jonsered, SVEZIA) - NEW ENGLAND INDIA PALE ALE - New England IPA (7%)

The nose is immediately fruity explosion: passion fruit, especially mango.
When poured it is a deep and intense golden / hazy.
Abundant foam even if of light consistency, very tasty. It almost disappears by itself.
In the mouth, medium body, but smooth, aided by a lively but not excessive carbonation.
Predominant taste of exotic fruit (passion fruit, mango, papaya.), Yellow peach, apricot and a light citrus note of pink grapefruit.
The fruity taste is softened, but there is no impression (as in many other New England IPAs) that there is a sort of veil that almost divides the beer in two between the very tasty initial part and the dry finish, but not bitter.
Indeed, the taste of the fruit pervades the palate and ends in a very balanced and linear way with a dry and even slightly bitter finish, which I personally appreciate.
Very tasty, undemanding: it is confirmed as a safe and reliable choice taking into account the quality/price ratio.

Good time to be drinking that last Schwarzbier. On to Maibock time!

 

Nice! Vienna Lager is probably my favorite style of beer but it's hard to find one in the U.S. made mostly with Vienna malt. I hear that Schwachter is quite good as the style goes.

 

Good afternoon BA's! A cloudy mid to upper 60's day south of Asheville today.
Today's choice is a porter from Asheville Brewing. Very legit with your classic attributes of medium roasted malts that emit notes of chocolate and finishes with ample hopping to balance things very well. Don't drink session porters much anymore but they seem to always hit the spot when i do!
Just caught probably my favorite Doobie Brothers song on SiriusXM. Always an enjoyable tune for me!

Final details for next block pretty much nailed down, so time for a break.
Got my 9+ miler on trails done this morning, a gorgeous day running through geological layers, dirt, and vert.

But now I'm tucking into this number. First time? No. Happy? yes. Space me.

......got my stroll in this am, did quick house cleaning in anticipation of the lovely brides return....an absolutely gorgeous spring day here....finally.....even got a chance to go topless this am........
