Good afternoon BA's! A lovely 70-degree day south of Asheville.
Today's first choice is from Birdsong in Charlotte, a stout flavored with habanero and cocoa. This brew unfortunately is too hot to be enjoyable and i love brews like Stone Xocoveza and Westbrook Mexican Cake. The habanero heat overwhelms the cocoa and everything else about this brew. Oh well, i tried it and will not purchase again.
Da Boss is spinning tunes again and am hearing a tune from Blue Oyster Cult that we did a skit, with real instruments, in a high school drama class where my friends and i even went as far as purchasing dry ice to try to simulate a concert environment LOL! Pretty comical watching the first bit of the video but still a tune i enjoy today.

Much needed for our recently revitalized downtown. Sometimes they have some really amazing sauce on tap. Not so much today. Oh well I'll tick a few whilst here.

 

Wheatwine was good but not one of my favorites. Great UB40 take on the Neil Diamond song. It reminds me of when my friends and i saw them at the Michigan State University Auditorium in the early 80's (although i could not verify the concert on the tracking sites). At that time we were smoking clove cigarettes, which was fashionable. Anyway, of course we were lighting up the clove cigs, and other smokables, in the auditorium and i remember distinctly being admonished multiple times by one of the student ushers that no smoking was allowed but being as crass as we were we kept right on toking away...i want to say UB40 played a reggae version of The Joker that night but my memory is pretty hazy LOL!
Onto beer #2 and am having the first of a "gift" from Sierra Nevada for being an Alpha Hop Society member at the end of last year. Can definitely taste the Kentucky bourbon barrel and it has a nice viscosity to it.
