    Hey Hump Day BA's

Another busy and productive day thus far - went for several hikes with my pup this am, bought some deck stain and paint for boats and some spar varnish nearly $100 worth! Jeez!
Got started on staining the deck that surrounds my 3 season sunroom (the railing of which many of my outdoor beer pics happen)....got the hand rails and steps stained with a brush, will tackle the deck boards tomorrow after the deck cleaner has time to dry.....whew! I need a beer!

really dig this beer....crisp and delish!

Emma and I hiked at the Kent Bog State Preserve earlier - cool place with tamarck trees, mossy bogs, and many blueberry plants!

New school hops in a “bland, lager*” it ain’t.

A “new school” hop treatment, sure. But Simcoe is as old as the hills, and Mosaic is yesterday’s “new girl” hop, but together with a sturdier (medium bodied) malt backbone makes for a lager which might convert a few Seasion IPA fans.

    Cheers!

*That’s also known as a “blahger”, for the three of you who were unaware.

Just a single after work de stress beer. Still enjoying these.

Tomorrow I have an interview with a large brewery in Philadelphia. I'm not going to say too much. If u know me u can assume who it is and yes im shitting bricks over it. But here's hoping it goes well. I feel I'm qualified so we will see if that's true. Landscaping is hard back breaking work but I'm trying to move on from it and to follow my heart and I hope I make the correct decision if I need to. a father's thoughts on that.

    Cheers all.

Happy 40th @Providence, enjoy your 40's my friend because they will be gone before you know it!
Thought it was time to finally break into my four-pack of The Waldos'. Huge, dank, and delicious for sure. Debating whether to crack another one given the dangerous drinkability!
In the meantime, i will share a few Lagunitas related anecdotes...My buddy who likes to volunteer at major beer festivals and is well connected to brewery owners shared these two stories recently - not sure if this is widely known so apologize if it is:
    (1) "Waldos was evidently the group of CA high schoolers in the North Bay who started the tradition of meeting @ 4:20 to smoke & then go about their adventures in the early 70s. And credited with originating everything 420. So Waldos special TIPA is an honor to them & maybe originally brewed with involvement of some of the original Waldos."
Which led to a 2nd story about Undercover Shutdown Ale which was a nice brew in years past: (2) Undercover Shutdown commemorates the undercover sting operation that shut Lagunitas down for a couple weeks because of people smoking marijuana on the property. When I first went there, the brewery was in a warehouse building & "tasting room" was a tent in the parking lot.
    Cheers!

Happy Wednesday, y'all. Hoptimum from Sierra Nevada. Sweet, boozy, juicy, not bitter yet not altogether unbalanced as the sweetness drops off in the end, terrific for 14 bucks a 6-pack. Yeah anyway, Cheers!

This house actually sold for 145K - the asking price was 120K. Going to be an expensive proposition for whoever bought it. It needs to be torn down, needs a new well and septic and new construction, easily over 600K
