I agree, but also like Leffe Blonde from time to time.

No canning date on this can, but best before is somewhere next year. Leffe sells rather quick around here, (and close to Belgium too) so I assume it is as fresh as you can get it outside Leuven. This one is cold too. Place where I'm staying has a small private fridge.

I guess it it all the same in the EU. The best before assures that some food or drink does not make you fall ill when consumed before that date. No guarantee about taste ofcourse
Uiltje (here in NL) uses canning dates.

Finally done working for the day. Cooling off with a Boston Rising from Jack's Abby.



I had a question about this beer since it was listed as retired on BA and there was no date code on the can. I emailed Jack's Abby and here's what they had to say - I already submitted the update to remove the retired status.

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question about Boston Rising. I'm terribly sorry that there was not a packaging date on those cans. To be honest, we recently commissioned a new state of the art canning line for our facility. Unfortunately, with "state of the art", there are some growing pains and certain components need tweaking along the way in order to make them work properly. This was the case for our date coder. We weren't able to apply date codes to products for a week or two. Boston Rising fell within this range. It was packaged over the course of 2 days, 3/1/22 and 3/2/22. We could not, realistically, shut down our packaging line for two weeks while we waited for the right part to fix our coder, so we opted to package beer without the date code. I'm sorry for the confusion, but am happy to report the coder is fully operational now!

Thanks for the kind words . That is indeed the Spencer Abbey where the now defunct Trappist beers were brewed. It's not the actual brewery itself - access to the brewery is restricted and you can't see it from any of the vantage points. Cheers!
