I cherish this beer. I realize that one day it could no longer exist, or it could be a bastardized version of itself. I'm thankful. I mean that when I say it. Cheers!

There was a time that Kris Parker was my favorite emcee in the world. I've been listening to him a lot lately, and it reminds me of my childhood. Peace to the Blast Master!

This has been the busiest spring ever. Every night I’m driving the boy somewhere, or school events, or my work.
Make sure to stop and smell the roses, I don’t have the time!

The nuanced flavors and generally overall lightness of this beer makes for a great thirst quencher.

Having a post dinner Fiddlehead IPA.

Left over chicken sauteed with sundried tomatoes, garlic, Thai chilies and green onion and tossed with the pasta. It was really good, especially since lunch really sucked. I went down to the food takeout at the supermarket and they had a nice smoked brisket so I ordered a lb of the brisket. So the moron says I have to slice it and disappears in the back with it out of sight. The rule with brisket is that you always cut across the grain, not with the grain. He sliced it as if he were slicing deli meat - real thin and with the grain instead of the typical 1/4 - 1/2 inch slices across the grain. It was gross and sucked so won't be buying that again unless I go to my local BBQ joint who know how to cut brisket.

This is how you slice brisket ...

Looks great…. Just the single Fiddle (which I love)! What gives?

I picked up the single and the Second today. I decided to revisit the regular IPA since it was pretty fresh. It's a good beer as well, I think it's a lot hazier than the Second Fiddle but it's still pretty tasty. I will have a Second Fiddle later as a comparison.

I’ve had 2nd which is excellent, and old 2nd which was not. Lol I check the dating at Wegmans just out of habit here,,, it went from Oct to March, which is great , but I’m working down my fridge from vacation, and I have to confront the beer weight I gained this past year… like a frog boiling in water, I feel I haven’t changed, but I had to buy a larger belt today,,, and that was a threshold that was not cool

    Yes sir, that's the one!

My training has been suboptimal, but I am just happy to have been selected and will go have fun with it. Way too much indulgence in April coming off a crazy winter.

Cracking a ‘Gansett Lager. It won't break into my top 3 AALs, but it's solid and I'm not in the least bit mad I had to buy six to try it out. Also, only 13 days old!

Some day I will go back to Norway. I am part Scandinavian, but it's not part of my identity or close family in any way. Still, being very German and Scottish, I blend in exceptionally well.

Beautiful, awesome country with awesome people.

    Cheers!

Ah yes, the dreaded beer weight gain. I put a 2 month limit on any of the Fiddlehead beers - if it's older than that I pass. Most of the time around here it's pretty fresh, like 2 - 3 weeks old. The IPA I'm drinking was dated 5/4/22.

South Florida (West Palm Beach) is enjoying a beautiful couple of days, and this smoked beer is a perfect beer to enjoy after a fantastic day on the beach. Really good stuff from a world class brewery, IMHO.

Back in the early 2000s a very good friend ran it, we were a bit of rat pack.
So Phil is running it, Pat and I take a 60 minute head start from Pinkham.
Haul up Huntington Ravine to meet Phil .
    We hit it perfectly
Phil another year did the bike race, that time we huffed up Lion head and met him at the last push.
    Have a great race
