Having an Art Car IPA as a mental maintenance beer this afternoon. (official temp of 106 right now)

Our youngest son is home on leave from the Navy this week. All great so far.

He came home to get married. This is where it falls apart. Brides cool and all, but putting it all together and getting her ready to drive back to the East coast is really getting taxing. And I don't even have to think...I get in trouble if I even try. :grimacing:

    It's all good though...Happy times!

    Cheers Y'all

    Which one are you runnin'?

FWIW: from my experience at the ultra distances, it's better for the wx to be on the cooler side than the hotter side. Easier to recover if/when mistakes are made (hydration, nutrition, etc). Good luck!

Congrats on the job @Urk1127 ! Still haven't had a Yards beer, hope they ship one day to Chicago, Illinois.

Speaking of not shipping to Chicago, 3 Sheeps is scarce to non-existent. Will be heading to Kenosha to stock up on it and Central Waters soon.

    Hey BAs!

Just returning from a quest to bag a few peaks on the 52-With-A-View list today. Two separate hikes on an absolutely perfect-weather day.

    This seems appropriate right now.

Kolinizáló NEIPA (Colonization NEIPA) by Hungarian microbrewery Oasis. Sour malt NEIPA. I think these beers dont do well on supermarket store shelves. Probably would be a lot better fresh draught. 6/10, too sour for my taste.

Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:

    1) Indeed Pilsner (5.1%):
A German-style pilsner from Minnesota with flavors of crisp and clean pale malts and yeast. A yeasty, bready finish. Larger for a German pils.
    versus
    2) Bauhaus Wonderstuff (5.4%): A Czech-style pilsner from Minnesota that has bready and salty flavors with a twist of American citrus addition for a lemon biscuit flavor.
(Mismatched these two blind, correctly matched the other pair)

    3) Great Lakes Hazecraft IPA (6.7%): A hazy IPA from Ohio with flavors of orange, mango, and tropical melon. Some plastic flavors. Grounded and smooth.
    versus
    4) Revolution Hazy Hero IPA (7.3%): A hazy IPA from Chicago with flavors of orange citrus, citrus peel, and pineapple. Juicy.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    2) Bahaus Wonderstuff:
Personal preference here. This one drinks larger and with more lemon biscuit notes. Not an authentic Czech Pils, but the lemon biscuit flavor to this one drinks perfectly. A great hybrid beer.

    4) Revolution Hazy Hero IPA:
Not really a competition here. This one has far more juicy and citrus flavors. Better carbontion. I wouldn't jump on The Hazecraft with it's grounded, underwhelming haze.

Purchased at Holzlager yesterday, a BBA Stout at a "sessionable" 13.8% abv. The can says "short fill", offered at $5 per can. After getting it home I weighed it against a IIIPA from another brewery, it was 1.75 oz less than the IIIPA. That being said, I bought 2 cans, shoulda bought 'em all.

Thick, inky, black pour, not much of a head, none expected. Dark fruit, roasted malt, some cocoa and molasses, and a whiff of booze. This is actually outstanding. [IMG]
