Doing an Ohio winter warmer tasting.. I've had all of these many times, but not side by side..

    Great Lakes Christmas Ale
Thirsty Dog 12 Dogs of Christmas
Hoppin' Frog Frosted Frog's Christmas Ale
    The Brew Kettle Winter Warmer
Fat Head's Holly Jolly Christmas Ale
    Columbus Winter Warmer

I wanted to add Mt. Carmel Winter Ale, but I don't think I've seen any this year, unless I was overlooking..

I wish I could tell you, the one time I build a layover into travel plans for the drinking of a beer, our flight arrives late. So now it's a flight to Vegas and I'll make up for the lack of beer when we land.

How was the bourbon level in the porter? Last bottle I opened was insanely bourbon forward. I've got one more in the fridge to try.

Time for more Berliner. Check out this raspberry Berliner Weisse homebrew from robinsmv:

a - Needless to say, it's quite a nice looking beer. Glowing cough syrup red body, great clarity for a Berliner, minimal beading and a pretty standard looking half finger of fizzing paper white head that dissipates quickly creating just enough carb to leave a trace of lace.

    (4 / 5)

s - Wow, Matt definitely captured that fresh raspberry aroma... and I mean FRESH. Smells like raspberry flesh, lingonberries, some acidic berry notes, tons more of that raspberry, tart pushing sour... nice.

    (4.5 / 5)

t - Sharp berry notes play up against that mildly sour Berliner profile, that addition of raspberries to the base beer has me wishing this puckering was amped up to kriek status but it's well-executed as it is. Focused, approachable.

    (4 / 5)

m - It's just a bit too thin but not by much. For the amount of fruit character on the palate it really finishes out clean and relatively dry.

    (4 / 5)

o - What a refreshing beer, even in this weather. Thanks for the bottle Matt! You done good son!

    (4 / 5)

Ville de Rivere Geuze from Rivertown.

Nice nose and excellent flavor, but like everything else this brewery makes, severely undercarbonated. A fairly rough pour produced nary a bubble. :slight_frown:

Come on Rivertown, this is a freaking GEUZE. You nailed the flavor, but it's supposed to be effervescent. This is unacceptable. I know you can do better.
