Happy Friday BA's! Normal morning chores complete. The wife and daughter just got back from a sunflower field event and are drenched, 88 feels like 93 so far today. Guayabera is working fine with some spicy Popeyes tenders........

    Victoria. Strong Belgian Blond.

@Shanex I found some Stella. Normally I don't care about it. But since it disappeared from the shelves I thought it better just to buy a 6-pack. Plenty of it around here by the way.

Note to someone planning a beer-cation to Belgium; both Victoria and Stella are about the last beers you should buy here (even in a supermarket).

I will be back later with something better

    Cheers from Belgium

I like Victoria better but even then I’d choose Duvel for a similar price.

Victoria also has some odd marketing and ads making it the new Duvel or Chouffe, nowhere close.

Stella is pretty much lacking any flavor, not much taste but is again good if you’re on some budget. As you say though I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone on a beercation in Belgium. So many better options we cannot find outside of this country anyway.

    Cheers Beer Fam!!!

I figured since I log in at 3pm today, might as well enjoy a beverage this morning.

Harland Brewing “Waimea Haze,” 7% ABV and pretty darn dank and juicy.

The grandsons are playing in the arcade, and I'm drinking Elevated IPA while I watch them play.

Bells Two Hearted IPA at the source. Could be the placebo effect, but this is the best tasting pint of this beer I’ve had. Not gonna get this classic much fresher than this!

That's such a great place, get the pastrami sandwich. Love the outside area too.
At under 4 weeks or so Two Hearted has a slightly next level taste.

Just finished a blind taste test of Georgia made German style craft beers. Evaluated Good Word A Troubadour Speaks, Printer Ale Everyday Yellow, Tucker TKR Pilsner, Halfway Crooks Radix, and Round Trip German Pils. I used Rothaus Tannen Zapfle as my control beer. I was surprised but pleased I was able to pick out the Rothaus from the group. It has superior head retention; mouth feel and great balance between sweet malt and bitter hops. How did the group pan out:

    1. Tucker Brewing TRK Pilsner
    2. Good Word a Troubadour Speaks
    3. Printer's Ale Everyday Yellow
    4. Round Trip German style Pilsner
    5. Halfway Crooks Radix

A few notes on the beers:
Tucker Brewing TRK Pilsner, while it was a little short on head retention, it hits the mark on style characteristics. It also has an added toasted malt note for extra malty interest. It was well balanced and drinks nicely.

Good Word: Matched the German import in head retention, was slightly hazy and leaned much more bitter through the finish. An excellent example over all.

Printer's Ale: This one was the lightest bodied of the bunch, which they designed it that way and makes it easier to drink without feeling full.

Round Trip: A dark horse of a brewery in Atlanta. Their pilsner is a good rendition. Fell short on head retention, but drinks nicely.

Halfway Crooks: Despite coming up last, this is still a good beer. It has a more herbal aroma/flavor to it, something I was not crazy about but many might enjoy.

I while I had some preferences, there was not a bad apple in the bunch. Each brought something a little different to the table. I enjoyed the TKR Pilsner the most but the Printer's Ale Everyday Yellow would be a great all around choice for those less familiar with German Pilsner characteristics and wanting something not quite so bitter. Prost!
