Daaamn, that beer sounds amazing. Green has always been my favorite by them. Can't imagine what that one is like! Cheers!

At a local Irish pub. A bit different from the three decades ago, where all you heard was laughter, conversations and on weekends an Irish band. Like most bars today, there are TVs showing the sports or local news. Hard to find any traditional pubs left in Chicago or the States.

They can pour a proper pint, so Guinness it is to start the day.



Couldn’t find the version with John Doyle featured on the local Monday evening Irish Folk Show.

First beer in my new Maine Beer Company glass. Rookie mistake though. I put it in the dish washer and some of the letters on the glass must have washed off. I probably should have not done that.

Very solid porter. My first Thirsty Dog beer many years ago. More on the smoky char side compared to a nearby brewed porter Edmund Fitzgerald. I love Eddie Fitz, but Old Leghumper sometimes hits the spot. They released a higher ABV version a few years ago that was great and even better on tap.

 

Most bars now think you have to have THE SPORTS BALL on all the TV's all the time (even if its a replay or just ESPN), and all the poppy pop music playing loud all the time. In the afternoon turn the damn things off, and let the natural noise and conversation take over. Thems my opinion anyway

 

I agree. I plan on doing that. If the glass was not dishwasher safe the packaging should have stated so.

A few months ago I bought an extra large coffee mug. I think I got it from Amazon. Anyway, on the bottom of the cup it stated it was not dishwasher safe. I probably would not have bought it if I knew that but that is a whole different story.
