The first time I had this was 7 years ago. I stopped at the brewery whilst on business in Iowa to pick up some Lightspeed bombers (does anyone remember when TG was ALL ABOUT bombers - like for all their “flagship” beers) and they had this and Mornin’ Delight randomly on tap. IIRC, that was my first true hazy and it knocked my socks off on tap.

That was a pretty fantastic beer nerd day for this old beer nerd. And this beer is still excellent, IMHO - nice bite to accompany loads of dank, citrusy hop flavors. Absolutely love it.

Relaxing on the deck digesting dinner. Three and one-half pounds of shrimp met their demise tonight. And the answer is yes, I did have help. I am not that much of a glutton. Pretty close though.

Dreaming Of... Nelson, a NEIPA by English brewery TRack (6.5%).

This makes for a really nice single-hopped Nelson NEIPA that shows off the variety really well, with those typical white grape and gooseberry notes really standing out bright and vibrant here, with hints of tropical passion fruit coming through as well.

Wax Wings Triple NNNazareth TIPA. Orange gummi and OJ with pulp take the lead, with white peach, ripe mango, floral and pine notes not far behind. A slight minty, pine resin bitterness adds balance. No alcohol detected, which is always my pet peeve on TIPA's. Soft and delicate feel. This is extremely well done.

Love this post. I certainly do remember when those guys were all about bombers. King Sue bombers were so tough to get! Very cool story too. That's a nice hazy to start off with. Finding those on tap would have been mind-blowing, especially the MD.

HopDevil was just one of my introductions to IPA. It was a glorious time. Wiseguys were all over the place. It was before NEIPA, and before AB InBev decided to take on an independent and start a war. It was when I met the world. It was when I first met Victory.

Brewing Projekt Smoofee Pineapple/Mango/Passionfruit/Banana Fruited Sour, 7.17% ABV. Pours thick and opaque bright orange with a ring of light orange bubbles that left puree residue. Nose is banana, pineapple, and mango. Taste follows, with passionfruit in there somewhere, moderately sweet, moderately tart, and a zest-like bitterness. Thick and smooth mouthfeel, overall excellent.

Another angry-looking Brewing Projekt beer. Not quite as outstanding as the Smoofee the other day, but still decent.

If they were planning on doing that, they would need Steve to oversee it. As I understand it, both Greg & Steve said peace out. Recipes aside, your grandma can't make my grandma's whatever recipe. Sad, but true.

Some West Coast action from Slack Tide. The grapefruit and onion really pop. And I like that Intracoastal is now in 12 oz. cans. Cheers!

And my favorite song from my favorite West Coast band.
