Hey - I recognize that spot from my travels! Loved the street drains if I'm not mistaken (pic from the web):

The can claims this is beer... a Korean rice beer. I am guessing that's there for US tax classification, but that's just a guess. I'm sure some on BA would call this beer. It's a makgeolli from Korea (and that's what I'd call it)... found in the beer department over here... and it's delicious. :beers:

Now if we could leave voice message on BA posts, I’d love to hear you pronounce that one.

Good morning BAs! Watched more Peaky Blinders last night, and slept in this morning. Cat fed, kitchen cleaned, it’s coffee time - Guinness Extra Stout on the back porch:

It has been cool (mid 60s) with a steady rain all morning. The forecast calls for a sunny afternoon and we will probably go into Hilo for farmer’s market day and some lunch/shopping.

Yesterday we continued our tour around the western side of the island, and visited a honey bee farm, a macadamia nut farm, and a Kona coffee bean farm. Also visited St. Benedict’s Painted Church:

Built in 1899, the Catholic priest painted the interior with murals to help him preach. Over 120 years later the paintings have held up well:

When was the last time you saw a church with palm trees painted on the ceiling?

Cheers and have a great day, and Aloha y’all!

For some reason that long word is making me think of this scene in Eurotrip. Lol

Ha! We asked the waitress to say it for us and she even took a couple of seconds. Very long word!

LOL! I speak (some) German and can say 'Schweinefiletgeschnetzeltes' rather fluent.
Did made my wife look up from her newspaper

Only thing is most Anglos cannot pronounce the « Sch » in German too well, unless of course they did learn German in Der Schüle. :grinning:

Ich habe alles vergessen seit der schüle.

Seriously I have fond memories of learning German, of which I don’t remember a lot.

Ironically my English is much better now whereas I wasn’t really leaned to speaking it fluently at some point.

    Prost!

This beer is from a local contract brewer which releases a few of their own branded beers. They are great brewers and their taproom (right by Goose Island Fulton) is worth checking out for their own beers and beers they brew for others.

Never thought about that. Dutch is somewhat related to German. Understanding is not difficult for most people here I think. But formulating a correct sentence can be a real challenge
Did German in high-school too (like French by the way). Kept it up over time with reading German newspapers and watching German TV.
    Cheers!

Not my modus operandi here to roll with a duplicate.
But, this is too tasty to not have another.

It was a favorite of mine during the years I was stationed in South Korea back in the early 70s. Damn fine drink. Goes really well with Bulgogi and Kimchi.
