Left work early- no parties and Im hot and beat...and sad.
This may be ridiculous to most of you but I had an arborist come in and look at my 100Yr old ash that has become infected with the Emerald Ash Borer.
I have three ash trees in my yard. This old one last year and years past has just been a beautiful tree. Sad to say she has to go. I have another thats dying as well. This will spread to the last one too. This pest is wiping out this species in the Northeast. Really a shame. Beer me with this fine example of a WCDIPA. Nice malt base.
Good beer. Didnt care for for first hazy version.[IMG]

That's sad to hear. They are really an invasive species - there's whole streets in Worcester where they just cut down all the trees because of them. And I agree, it SUCKS!

Viewing the beer and your description, has given me a thirst for a red ale called Rockville Red brewed by Midnight Brewery just down the street from me. Wife and I used to go to the brewery frequently to sit and have a few, fill a growler, and/or take home a six pack.

I am sorry to hear about the trees. I do not have any trees around the house that old but some are 40+ years. Lost a few. The landscape does not look the same without them.

Nothing ridiculous about that at all. I’ve got a tree guy that does a bunch of work regularly on some old trees in my yard. First, I love the trees. And second, if the big one you sometimes see blurry in my beer photos were to come down, I’d be rebuilding my house. The joys of living in the northeast.

But, the chance of earthquake, locust infestation, volcano, tsunami, tornado or hurricane is lower than some other regions.

Now that I just planted that curse on my house, I need to go read my insurance riders…

I am just enjoying the crap oughta this one. As someone who who just flat out loves big ballsy Imperial Stouts I will go out on a limb and say this is the best BA RIS I've had, (the Rye version is better, but not by much). Destihl's Dosvidanya is awesome......enjoy what' in yer glass....I am!

This is the second stout I've pulled out of my cellar in the last month and found it had gone bad. The other was a Prairie Sundae Service.

The tension builds as we wonder if it’s $2 old fashioned night… ok, perhaps it's just me. Possibly @vabeerguy and an outside shot at @BrewsOverHoes

In some places here the state just comes in and takes down Ash trees. No notice, permission, or explanation.

Ha, I was out with some buddies. They had never had an Italian Beef Sandwich before, let alone heard of it before The Bear. Which I was just flabbergasted by. I had suggested a $2 Old Fashioned, as Johnny's is just up the road as well, but we all decided this was enough (there were several cocktails here, not pictured)
