I’ve just realized I’ve got to do some dinner prep that I wasn’t expecting. Good thing I poured another beer. This one has a certain je ne sais quoi.

 

I’m trying to figure out if this is fresh can you take a picture of the codes on the bottom of the can I want to compare it to what’s near me?

You can never go wrong, but this will offend many but I guarantee the next 8 or 9 will be better. Cheers all.

 

A little beer fridge cleanup, Transient did a really nice job with this MWCIPA, IMHO - nice citrus and resiny pine flavors with a welcome lingering bitterness. Definitely a departure from the Juice (pun intended) bombs for which they’re known (and big stouts - can’t forget those).

White Elm Single Barrel Stout, 13% ABV. This was the first variant I had, unknown bourbon, and the base beer is mostly their s'mores imperial stout. This is my third highest rated beer at 4.77, and was cellared three years. I rated the Blanton's variant 4.67, the Buffalo Trace variant 4.46, and another unknown bourbon 4.21. Quite a difference based on the bourbon.

 

This is the very first bier glass I ever bought:



... figured it would be a perfect match for this beer as well. After my first trip to Germany I was hooked on their bier styles and the rest if history.



(And the cascading bubbles is really a sight to behold too!)
