What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3587

Bought a variety schwarzbier four pack featuring four different area coffee roasters. I like these types of varietals, first I recall having were the Coffee Eugene variants from Revolution. I liked the 12 oz draft pour of this particular variant yesterday, but I’m rating it now for the first time.

Brewery Notes: $16 16 ounce four pack plus tax & tip. 4.8% ABV canned 7/25/22. Refrigerated at the brewery and upon my return to the hotel until now. This is a Schwarzbier. Brewer and canned by CraftHaus Brewery, Henderson, Nevada.

Appearance: Multiple pours into a shaker pint glass in my hotel room at The Sahara. Dark brown to black base, tan soapy head leaves a slight cover over the base and a richer ring. Soapy lacing recedes quickly. 4.25

Aroma: Excellent dark roast coffee, rich chocolate roast malt. Very enticing, quite excellent. 4.75

Taste: Consistent with the aroma, though flipped in terms of the lead. The nice slightly sweet roast malt comes first, the bitter coffee follows helping balancing things out. The bitterness does win out, which works for me. 4.25

Mouthfeel: Heavy carbonation adds to a creamy medium body. Slightly bitter, sweetness peaks through at times. Very light and easy drinking alcohol wise, though the carbonation is making me a bit bloated despite a normal aggressive pour into the center of the glass. 4.0

Overall: This is a solid offering. Coffee is one of the few adjuncts I still seek out, and this one does not disappoint. The base beer complements well the roast coffee. Highly recommend if you like coffee and a malty beer (the latter usually not my first preference), can’t wait to try the other three. 4.25

Enjoying a 3F's Permanent Funeral, purchased as part of a pick six, probably passed it's best by date, still pretty solid. This is listed as an Imperial IPA @10.6% here, label says Pale Ale......WTF do I know?

New to me beer by Lone Pint. I emailed them because I couldn't figure out the hop/grain bill on this, limited info on the can. They actually got back to me pretty fast. So it's single hopped with Centennial and Pilsner malt. Im definitely enjoying it. It's like a cross between a Yellow Rose and Two Hearted ale.
