I've had Sunny Ridge and House Lager. Both are very good. I got addicted to Sunny Ridge and the bottle shop stopped carrying it. Bummer...

 

Urban Chestnut Schnickelfriitz Bavarian Style Weissbier. The Mrs. Flight outta Vegas was scrubbed. Not sure I can slow the smoker down enough. We will see how this plays out.

 

The weather abruptly turned perfect. Here is the finest doom metal from Milwaukee, WI.

 

Seems like a lot of us are drinking Oktoberfest beers. I love it.

Oktoberfest German style märzen - Great Raft

 

Bought a six pack of this to try it - probably won't be buying it again.

 

Tonight’s Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:

1) Surly Mozzafiato (5.0%): An Italian-style Pilsner from Minnesota with flavors of mild lemon and orange citrus and lightly sweet bready malts.

2) Surly Hell Lager (5.0%): A German lager from Minnesota that has flavors of lemonflower, lemon citrus, grains and wheat. Yeasty and smooth. (Correctly matched blind)

3) Modist Double Dreamyard (8.5% canned 8/7/22): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Citra and Denali hops atop wheat and oat malts. Flavors of citrus rind and herbs.

4) Falling Knife Raging Demon (8.5% canned 7/11/22): A NEIPA from Minnesota with flavors of orange citrus, pineapple, tropical fruit. (mismatched these two blind)

Winners:

2) Surly Hell Lager: A couple of Surlys. This is among my all-time favorite summer lagers. Lemonflower, yeast, and grains. Surly has a signature yeast that has a delicious lemonflower flavor. I don't know, it seems to be losing popularity over the years, but this one absolutely nails it.

4) Falling Knife Raging Demon: A collaboration with Toppling Goliath. This one drinks well. Balanced and drinkable for the ABV. Haven't been a huge fan of Falling Knife NEIPAs, but this one drinks nicely and the Toppling Goliath influence helped.

 

Yeah I think I'm going to pass on trying that 1. What are ya smoking on today?

Yeah, it's just kind of meh to me. I took a trip to the local dispensary this afternoon and picked up some Jelly Rancher Crumble which I plan on trying later this evening. Sound like pretty good stuff. Probably sprinkle it over a little flower, I feel like copping a good buzz this evening
