First off, I want to send a big shoutout to @Thankin_Hank for sending me this beauty. Longtime want, and now Raul has had. Yes.

In other news, maybe you’ve seen me talk about a script that I wrote and dreamed of making. It was always a far thought - until today. I met up with an amateur filmmaker and I decided to hire him and his crew. $12,000 is the price tag, and I still need to come up with a little more than half of it. So if any BA wants to be a producer, my messages are open .

Happy Wednesday BA's. Gotta love the short work week after a Monday holiday. I could get used to this! I was very excited to try Maine Beer Co. Lunch IPA for the 1st time. I really like the Peeper PA but was a little disappointed in the aroma & flavors of Lunch. I really hate that because Inwas prepared to be "wowed". But I recognize this beer is not that fresh - 3 months old. It's a good IPA but pricey at $7.50/bottle. That's too bad because I'd have to find it much fresher for that price, which is very unlikely around here.

 

Tonight’s Minnesota Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:

1) Fulton Festbier (5.6%): A fesbier from Minnesota that has flavors of baked bread and sweet honey. Light floral and citrus notes. Leans sweet and smooth.

2) Surly Oktoberfest (6.0%): A festbier from Minnesota that has flavors of citrus, bread spice, and light caramel flavors. (mismatched these two blind)

3) BlackStack DDH 755 HBC586 (6.8% no canning date on any): A NEIPA from Minnesota with HCB586 hops for flavors of lemon and grapefruit citrus, pineapple, some light gooseberry. Clean.

4) BlackStack Universally Panned (7.2%): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Mosaic and Strata for flavors of dank berry mixes with tropical mango. Heavier, but dry. Complex.

5) BlackStack Shipping Delays (7.4%): A NEIPA From Minnesota with Idaho7 and HBC586 for flavors of sweet citrus and tropical pineapple. Leans slightly sweeter. (Correctly identified #4, mismatched #3 and #5 blind)

Winners:

1) Fulton Festbier: Surly has always been one of my favorites, but this new Festbier from Fulton might have it beat. Surly was breadier and more yeasty, but this one has a sweet honey flavor. Dances toward a Marzen, but not quite there. Really nice and complex flavors here. Fulton makes some great beers and this Oktoberfest release does not disappoint. Going to need some more comparisons before definitively better than Surly though.

4) BlackStack Universally Panned: Difficult call here. 755 HBC586 in a close second. This one has a nice dank berry note from Mosaic that mixes well with the tropical mango from Strata. Dank, tropical mango and berries, without being too sweet. Done well here.

Today we rented a Lambo Huracan for 4 hours and went thru Lake Mead recreational area. It was like a 40 mile road course with no other cars.
