My wife had the day off for Rosh Hashanah earlier this week and I’m still waiting to start my new gig, so we went to Morgan Library to see the James Joyce exhibit celebrating 100 years since the publication of Ulysses. Colm Toibin contributed to and edited the exhibition catalog, so we picked that up.

There’s no aroma quite as nice as fresh-ish De Ranke XX Bitter.

Watching Bayern Munich stick it to Leverkusen. I need any card to hit my bet. While I understand the math perfectly well, and know that I’m in good shape, I’d weirdly prefer to need another goal.

Tired Hands stuff continues to show up in distro. The classic Strawberry Milkshake.

Fairly dry, some bready notes, has a little spicy hop kick. I have had it before and I dig this year's.

    Best before December 14th 2022.

Bready, caramel malt, light hoppy bitterness, pretty balanced. The lack of a head of foam surprised me.

Enjoying a harvest style lager from Munkle out of Charleston. This is malty, toasty, and a touch sweet. The brewer lived in the land of Fire and Ice as the brew is a nod to his memories from this time of year living there. The video is NOT the Game of Thrones song, but just some pretty impressive sites from around Iceland.
    Cheers!

At Bull n Bear Brewing Von Albreck a 6.0 ABV Marzen Oktoberfest. Excellent brew, it pour a golden amber with a thick white head. There is a nice malty aroma. The taste is slightly sweet malt balanced by a hop bitterness. Full mouthfeel and a lasting malt finish. I very enjoyably brew
Bull N Bear is a local brewery in Summit NJ. They brew a lot of German style lagers and do a good job at it.

I wasn’t planning on getting a beer on tap, but when I see a Russian River beer that I haven’t had before, I have to get it.
