Boring brown ales!?!? Blasphemy!

Granted one most on this site engage in. Maybe because, like this Short Story Hunt and Peck…


…the brewery doesn’t treat the malt with enough respect. Sure, my poetic license is used in the analysis, but it tastes like a pale ale with medium+ toasted malts. Not bad it that sense, but I think it’s lacking in proper character.

Nice! Must admit I didn’t quite expect to read about a brewery I’m not aware of from the area, though I’d never claim to be fully versed. Something to look forward to next trip that the GF drags me to there.

 

A fairly malty American Ale. Flagship of this CT brewery.

 

Because it's only 6.6% ABV.

 

Lol! Sounds like they should have at least oak aged it, to give a little more character.

 

Transient Artisan Ales Junie, another overly sweet dessert/pastry stout disaster.....

 

Ha! Maybe, maybe not. Their BA imperial stout was a bit too “woody” for my tastes. These complaints aside, Short Story makes pretty decent beers and is a welcome spot to visit when we’re in the area.

 

In the process of making some Nashville Hot chicken wings at the moment - they're baking in the oven now. I have time for this excellent specimen. I managed to locate some relatively close by using the SN Beer Finder. He had like 4 6 packs so I grabbed them all - he laughed when I brought them up to the counter - he understood lol. No other places around here have it yet.

I have taken up photography and cinematography so I been really enjoy this a lot!

I finally have a band project, so any fellow hop metal heads d.m. for details!

And finally enjoying Kane brewing which I do not have enough but I thought I would enjoy this after not having Kane for awhile. (I usually bike to Tonewood every Sunday for a couple of brews!)
