I'd say this is a nicely done representation of a German dunkel bier. The can (and brewery web site) notes indicate some rye malt was used although I don't really detect its presence. Overall, a very good dark lager.

3 Monts again in a more comfy room, which is still a good beer, but I just don’t like it as much as I used to. It’s 8,5%, not the issue. I just find it a bit too dry, crisp and lacking some aromas. La Goudale as a bière de garde is my preference now. I’m not a drain pour kind of guy, but this isn’t the hit I thought it was.

Oh man where do I begin?

My good brother Tito from Everlasting Spew Records has some great gems in the doom department! I do not even know where to begin with a suggestion but I think this is a great start:

Wishing everyone an awesome Christmas holiday for however long you celebrate it for!

For me, I am waiting for La Befana!

    Lancester Brewing Co Winter Warmer

This is a flavor profile I do not traditionally seek but I figured why not. Oddly enough I was looking for Delirium at my local shop but of course they were sold out!

Motueka, a NEIPA from English brewery Polly's (6%).

Another single-hopped IPA for tonight, this time with Motueka and leaning a bit more towards the New England style. That mojito character of Motueka certainly comes through nicely here, with some bright and zesty orange and lime notes, with the lime standing out particularly, as well as hints of mint and lemongrass.

2018 PTO, from 3 Sheeps. A Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout with toasted coconut, cocoa nibs, and walnuts. Pretty much German Chocolate Cake in a bottle.

My first beer in about 12 days is a pint of Old Bounder Barleywine, 2018, at Boundary Bay. Smooth and easy drinking.

We skipped Belmont Station last trip. Not this one, and everyone grabbed some Pliny, with me splitting my palate between it and Beach Break Sole, an ESB.

The ESB has a nutty malt profile, while Pliny is as tasty as expected, with a slow bitter build to it.
