Father in law drove up from KY. Couldn’t come up last week because of the weather. Finally getting to celebrate Xmas with him.

 

Electrical issue in RV was just a blown fuse, yay! I had to disassemble the bed in order to get to the fuse box, now everything is working…another Dr. Dank to celebrate:



Shutting everything down for the night. Maybe another beer for dinner prep…I usually switch over to cheap white wine or Hendricks…Cheers!

 

Moved inside and grabbed a NB VDR Juicy Haze IPA. It appears there may be a "got home safely" tequila shot in tonight's plans.....

Can poured into a pretentious beer glass , spotty lacings

Hazy orange liquid, two finger off white fizzy foam cap. Sticky lacings

Aroma is orange citrus, peach,

Taste is citrus orange, orange rinds

Sudsy mouthfeel, hop bite , semi dry finish

I put one of these in the fridge yesterday, was planning it for tonight's relax. But then warmer weather kicked in, and an Iron Hill Kryptonite screamed for attention.
May, just may crack that dude for later. Lots of excuses: Xmas, my birthday, the new year.
Been going a little excessive lately, but looking at hunkering down a bit in January. Not dry (egads!) but maybe a little triumph of the willpower.
Till then, katy bar the door!

 

I had this a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it, but I think I’m enjoying it more now - the rye seems more “settled” and works really well with the orange, honeysuckle, and eucalyptus flavors. This is a very enjoyable winter warmer, one I look forward to every year.

Sad news. Last night the veterinarian had to put down my son-in-law’s dog (crazy ass Zeke) which he had for 15 years. Dog could not breath. Vet sad he had degenerative nerve disease. That and a number of health issues (e.g. tumor, deafness, arthritis) had plagued Zeke for a number of years.

Every family vacation included Zeke. He loved swimming in the ocean! How he never drowned is a mystery.

Super sorry to hear that Mike. It makes the holidays harder when we remember losing a loved one around then.

I have an emotional sunset

I dedicate this to my emotional wife. We were supposed to have our granddaughters down here for a few days, but because of a couple of unresponsible adults at our family Christmas Eve party people in both my son and daughters house are sick, among others. Not to go on a big rant( I did that already) but a person came to the party knowing they had COVID and someone else called me 7 hours after the party to “ warn me” they just tested positive. He had to know he wasn’t feeling well that night. So these 2 dickheads turned a fun family night into a super spreader event.
