First stop today, a brewery I visited during a trip to Anaheim.

Monkish Citra Freshie



Brewery Notes: $7.50 12 oz pour. West Coast Double India Pale Ale w/ Citra • 8.0% ABV

Appearance: Clear blonde tan pour, light carbonation, bright white head leaves nice razor thin cover over the base and sliding lacing throughout. 4.25

Aroma: Nice dank pine, strong and enticing. Citrus lurking as well. 4.25

Taste: Almost gulped it all down. Nice dank pine combo, citrus barely there. Really hitting my sweet spot. 4.5

Mouthfeel: Dry as a desert, dank, drinks at the ABV level. Faint fizzy carbonation adds to the medium resinous body. Dry pine lingers and I’m a happy camper. 4.75

Overview: This is what I flew to Los Angeles for. Beer of the trip one day in, hits all the notes I’m seeking with a WCIPA. 4.5

And yes @RaulMondesi , Philippe was my first stop after checking in. The French Dip had less meat than how most Chicago joints serve Italian beef, but it was the perfect size for my hunger level. Mustard was incredible, also put on my potato salad! A $0.20 sweet pickle to cleanse the palate pre breweries worked well! Saw Langers this morning at MacArthur Park, but too early to eat.



I suspect @TheIPAHunter would approve of the set playing, though still waiting for Nas.

Ya'll are probably going to get tired of me going on about this brewery but man I love Good Word Brewing. Stellar beers. They just put a Helles out so I'm planning to hit there this weekend. Going to see if my 83 year old dad is up for going with me. Enjoying their Kolsch at the moment and thinking about dinner. Cheers all!


More Cowboy Junkies as I scratch some music nostalgia itch.

 

Using a nucleated glass for this Warpigs USA High Celebrant Doppelbock as it's a little older than I thought. Canned 04/13/22. Let's see if the glass helps...highly caramelized malts, candied really. Oh yeah man. The glass puts some wind in its sails and keeps it smooth. Great feel and tastes fantastic. Nice & strong. Very pleasing. Cheers!

 

Hanging out with Saša and making dinner. Luckily, we've almost made it through the tornado watch.

 

Happy Thursday ba. Into it with Green Diamonds, ddh iipa featuring galaxy/amarillo, other half. Nice soft and pithy feel with candied tropical fruit notes. I feel the galaxy comes off a touch to sweet but it’s nothing that is to detrimental.

 

A well made Doppelbock should hold up just fine for that time.

 

Enjoying a classic IPA while listening to Springsteen’s 1999 Chicago concert while smoking a meatloaf for dinner. Cheers!

 

Those storms seemed to mellow out as they came through Cumming. South of Atlanta may not say the same. A tasty Czech Pilsner. Nice choice.

 

It has! and it works just fine in the shaker pint. I bought a WP mix pk months ago cold so it's been chilled since my paws grabbed it. This is the last beer from it.

 

Doppelbock is such an underappreciated beer. It's a go to strong beer for me in the winter. Cheers bro!

Back home safely and enjoying a Danger Beach IPA. It's an awesome 79 degrees as the sun sets. We're supposed they the tail of the storm overnight with some rain. It's a 4 day weekend for our in-unit folks, MLK holiday on Monday.
