Not a bad beer, but if you walk a few blocks to the brewery, you can get a four-pack of Cassian Sunset for the same price.

 

Wayfinder/Fair State Animal Beer American Pilsner (Cascade). My first beer from Wayfinder. These guys supposedly make great lager and this one backs that statement up. Bright, clean, and refreshing with a crisp, yet soft feel. Wish I had more of this one.

Stone - Ruination

I get zero aroma yet again, but the flavor is pretty nicely bitter. No retronasal activity either.

 

Enjoying an open-fermented Helles from Zillicoah in the Asheville area. Not quite an NA beer but at 4.3 abv does provided a very nice taste experience!

Hello Advocates on this fine MLK Day. Raining here for about 12hrs and the past 2 hrs showered steady hard rain. Thanks @DoctorZombies for kickin' off 3740. Tree pruning was a success ystrdy and it didn't beat me up too bad, got a good run in this morn, got more drumming sh*t organized and man I'm ready for brewskies. This one's been ringin' my bell since I brought 'er home: Portage North Of Schwarz Oak Black Lager. Ooooo yeah. Way to go MN! Dark chocolate, coffee char, dark toasted grains, all encapsulated in a light band of oak smokiness and it is gently pale to boot. Super EZ drankin'. Very glad I got 4pk of this. Released 55 years ago this week. One of Miles Davis' all time greatest albums, which is saying something. Nefertiti is dark, complex, and mysterious.

Need a dark, complex, and great beer to go with...Schlenkerla Marzen will do well .

 

It's Richmond. Which brings up the question of how different the versions out of the two locations are. I'm enjoying it but it needs some aroma. I have light lagers that smell more.

Stone Ruination DIPA (Magnum, Chinook, Centennial). This particular recipe of this beer is one of the beers that got me into IPA's and helped me appreciate the almighty IBU's. Is this as good as the original? Hard to say since that was so long ago, but the taste does bring me back.
Big resinous pine, yellow grapefruit juice and peel, meyer lemon juice and peel, some orange peel, floral, black pepper. Slight caramel and breadiness from the malt to give the beer some semblance of balance, but in the end this one stays bone dry and intensely bitter. Excellent stuff.
