So glad to finally have a shot at this one at the only FW location I’ve been to (then or now).

    Firestone Walker Wookey Jack

Brewery Notes: $9.86 11 oz draft pour after tax, 8.3% ABV Black IPA.

Appearance: Pitch black base, steady stream of tan carbonation visible along a side, white tan cream ring settles around the rim and tiny bubbles above the base. 4.25

    Aroma:
Nice citrus pine aroma leads over a slightly sweet dark roast chocolate malt base, toffee and caramel provide lovely backing. Mild in strength, but worth seeking. 4.25

    Taste:
Consistent with the aroma, less sweet than anticipated which works for me. Chocolate malt contained by a bitter pine citrus backing makes this a wonderfully enjoyable beer bursting with flavor, but without excesses spoiling the proceedings. As this warms, toffee, caramel and mint emerge. This is an amazing beer! 4.75

    Mouthfeel:
Medium to full body, tiny carbonation a light touch. Drinks very smooth and creamy. Drinks stronger than the ABV, but nothing to be concerned about. Drinks balanced with light spurts of post swallow sweetness, tone toffee caramel, emerging wonderfully between sips. 5.0

Overall: So glad this came back for my trip. Amazing on draft, will buy what I can fit in my refrigerator if distributed in Chicago. Will definitely order a second before heading to LAX. Great to perfect in all measures, well done as usual Firestone Walker! 4.75

Sierra Nevada Powder Day DDH IPA (Amarillo, Citra, Chinook, Comet, Herkules, Idaho 7, Mosaic, Polaris). After having the saturated pine resin Stone Ruination, this comes off even more fruit-forward than the last time I had it. Huge yellow peach, grapefruit, some lemon, floral, melon, pine. A solid IPA for a fair price as you'd expect with SN.
