Tavern Cut, from Hop Butcher.

 

1) Equilibrium/Toppling Goliath King Al (7.8% canned 9/21/22): A NEIPA collab from NY/IA with the base MC2 malt and Citra hops for flavors of tropical orange creamsicle and orange citrus flower.
versus
2) Equilibrium Energy Equals (8.0% no canning date): A NEIPA from NY with flavors of tropical pineapple, mango sorbet, grapefruit citrus, and apricot. Clean. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Winner:
1) Equillibrium/Toppling Goliath King Al: Two NEIPA expanding upon the EQ MC2 malt base. Energy Equals is pretty good. Has some stonefruit flavors and drinks extremely clean. Not nearly as juicy as King Al though, which is probably one of my favorite NEIPAs of the past year. The dense mango sorbet from EQ mixes with the bright TG citrus flower flavor. Hitting it's age, but still drinks like a masterpiece. Rooting for KC tonight!

 

Holy cow the King Al has really changed in appearance with some age! Still looks like a tasty beer tho. I favored King Al myself. Was glad to have been able to have it. I wasn't to crazy about Energy Equals.

 

Late start today as I fulfill my NBS responsibilities. Drinking a super good barrel-aged Russian Imperial Stout from Untied Brewing Company. Cheers, all!

 

Drinking Duvel 666. Getting a review together to post in the Duvel tasting thread

 

My 3rd from the Extreme Peanut Butter/Dessert/Pastry Stout beer box. So far all three have looked terrific, but that's where it ends. I would really like to try the "base" beers for the first three I've had but I can't say much for the finished product.

Starting up with a Weldworks/Hop Butcher collab The Best Citra HDIPA. Oh mang... Dynamite! An absolute pleasure to have this excellent beer. Cheers!!
