    J,
Sorry to hear about bad luck with your Poker game. I do not expect to lose that much, maybe $20 at worst, at the weekly neighborhood friendly game later today where the objective is to have a few beers, maybe a shot of Rye, and lots of laughs!

Enjoying a lighter one ahead of the game tonight, a fine porter from Innovation Brewing in Sylva/Dillsboro NC which is west of us. If i did a side by side with Deschutes Black Butte Porter i doubt i could tell the difference as this is of good quality.
    Cheers!
    Tom

Always Trust The Optimist by Track and Pellicle. These modern west coast IPAs, marrying juiciness and bitterness, are probably my favorites beers right now.

Good afternoon, advocates. Starting things off w/ a delicious beer from Elysian known as Space Dust. I saw an interesting post yesterday where the user said (paraphrasing) that they didn't detect much beyond hop flavors and pine. This is a super fresh batch, but I find the citrus characteristics to be palate-pleasing. Plenty of citrus rind, mango, orange pith, and valencia orange to go around. Hints of grapefruit. Pleasant malt characteristic to balance the whole thing out. Medium body. Lingering bitter finish. What's not to love?
P.S. I see a lot of folks are upset about the karma reboot. @Todd, I personally don't care. I am loyal to the soil, as many of you know. While I can understand that a lot of people invested time and money into their quest to become Poo-Bahs et al, what is the old adage about the journey being more significant than the destination? I guess that's how I see it. The only title I require is Hunter, and I'm here to do two things: kick some a$$ and drink IPAs. If you know the movie I just embellished on, that means that I love you. Cheers!!!

    1) Paulaner Oktoberfest (5.8%)
: A German Märzen that has authentic German hop and malt flavors with a dusky German grains and and bread flavors underneath the yeast.
    versus
    2) Ayinger Oktoberfest(5.8%): A German Märzen that has authentic German hop and malt flavors hops and spices atop toasty, and smooth caramel bready malts. (Correctly matched the two blind)

    Winner:
    2) Ayinger Oktoberfest:
Not the first time I've compared these excellent Märzens. Each time there is a definite winner. Ayinger drinks better. More citrus, and rich caramel malt. Hard to beat this Märzen.
