    1) Drekker Joker in the Pack (8.2% canned 1/16/23): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Nectaron, Citra, Nelson Sauvin, and Strata for flavors of honeydew and cantaloupe melon, grape, berries, and watermelon.
    versus
    2) Drekker King of The Thing (8.3% canned 12/16/22): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Citra hops for flavors of orange citrus, tropical citrus, some sweet peach. Juicy, soft, and smooth. (Correctly matched the two blind)

    Winner:
    2) Drekker King Of The Thing:
Slow Thread today. Another Drekker NEIPA Battle. Their newer one Joker in the Pack has some nice hop additions with the Nectaron, Nelson give it some melon and grape flavors. Nice tropical melon flavors here, but a little flat.
I think King of The Thing is one of the best Drekker NEIPAs I've had. Complex flavors from the Citra hop with even some tropical peach. A soft and perfectly smooth mouthfeel. Not too sweet and I personally think this is far better and should replace Ectogasm as their flagship NEIPA.

Wayne Shorter's debut Blue Note album, Night Dreamer spinning. RIP to one of the greatest musicians ever.

This might be my favorite KBS variant. The Original MMF was one of the best also, but the 2022 was a big step down imo. Hoping they release this one again this year!

Was given a 4 pack of Lagunitas Unrefined Shugga! Bottled Nov. 9th, 2021. Thought I'd give it a shot, since I usually stay clear of high abv beers. Way too boozy for me. The aroma was boozy and followed right into the taste. Just not my style. Could be that it was around 16 months old, I don't know. I'm not up on aging beers at all. Opted for something more up my alley, Revolution Working Man English Mild Ale.

Thanks to @JZH1000 for the start!

Drove an hour to get to Bonneville Brewery

Started with the Peaches and Cream Wheat ale.

Miss seeing this in the grocery stores, apparently they stopped bottling a year ago (matches up with my timeline of when I stopped seeing them) due to costs.

Not worth the drive imo, but creamy, peachy, sweet and Wheaty delicious

Already ready for more ale. GI Secret Beer Hug Hazy IPA. It's the best of the Beer Hug variety 12pk. Tastes better and is more balanced than the Imp IPA and leaves the other 2 in dust. My new band T-shirt is stylin' and I just ran a scrappy 5 miles in it...it runs well ;-) Cheers!

This beer pours a nice dark amber color. On tap, there was almost no head.
The nose is fairly light, and faint. I get a hint of caramel malt on the nose.
The flavor starts out caramel, and pleasing so. The middle a nice bitterness from the hops kick in. The back a pleasing toffee flavor hits.
There is a bit of a boozy feeling from the alcohol content. The burn tells you to sip it. Decent full body.
Tasty overall. There's a BA version that ramps up the regular Batch 100.

    Good Evening Advocates!

Yup, I realize I'm on the other side of the calendar with this stuff, but just 3 more to go after this one to vacate the fridge finally of last Fall's stock.

More local IPA's...Saint Arnold Double Down, excellent DIPA.

And more Wayne Shorter you say...well OK to that again. One of Shorter's best with some of his most iconic songs. Footprints is on the short list of most memorable jazz tune ever written.

Greetings BAs! My first beer of the day is from Ölōgy Brewing - Cuvee de Sauvin, a hazy DIPA with Sauvignon Blanc grapes added and hopped with Nelson Sauvin:

A great for me “hazy lite”…barely opaque, medium minus body, not juicy, not fluffy and no astringency. The grape addition compliments the hop - flavors of white wine, white grape juice, mild bitter grapefruit and some tropical fruit - lychee and mango. Easy drinking, and no warmth from 8% abv. Outstanding. Cheers y’all!
