Wow, there wasn't fishing derby on Newfound Lake this year cause of some open water areas....cheers!

 

Yes sir, the best!

 

1) Phase 3 DDH Feline Fine (7.8% indecipherable date): A NEIPA from Chicago with Simcoe, Mosaic, Strata for flavors of sweet orange papaya, peach, and strawberry. Juicy, smooth, sweet and somewhat resinous.

2) BlackStack Side Hustle (8.4% no canning date): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Idaho 7, Citra Cryo, El Dorado Cryo & Azacca Cryo for flavors of tropical pineapple, sweet navel orange, some melon and faint flower. Heavy, juicy, sweet.
versus
3) BlackStack TDH Pocket Dial (8.3% no canning date): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Strata, Cashmere, Vic Secret, Mosaic Cryo, Sabro, and Talus for flavors of green garden citrus, lime, guava, green melon, and papaya. (Correctly matched all three beers blind)

Winner/Rankings:
1) BlackStack TDH Pocket Dial: I keep coming back to this one. Probably time to stop soon, but I won't because I ended up hoarding a little stash. Beautiful green lemon/lime and guava flavors from the Talus but a little age is starting to show. Still, this one was unique and one of BlackStack's best when fresh.
2) BlackStack Side Hustle: Nothing but good things to say about this one. Probably about the same age as Pocket Dial but holds up a little better with age. Better than average BlackStack haze here.
3) Phase 3 DDH Feline Fine: Usually on board with Phase 3 IPAs, but this one seemed sort of weak. A nice and smooth malt body, but flavor was mild and leaned a bit too sweet.

 

Having a Stone Patio Magic while dinner cooks. Due to the combination of green/yellow colors, it's really hard to read the label - or at least I find it as such.

 

They somehow still pulled off the big derby on Meredith Bay. But yeah, likewise, the Pond Hockey tournament was held on Lake Waukewan this year. Crazy warm non-winter. Until the last couple weeks and few feet of snow haha. 3ft from last storm SW of me. 2 friends houses still without power since Tuesday. Gotta love March in NH. Never know!

Tucher Dunkles Hefeweizen to start things off.

 

Looks still and port-like. The marriage of wine and beer in fascinating blends is a very wide open field of exploration. A Gewurztraminer Farmhouse Ale seems to me like a nice union. And very food friendly. Think Wiener Schnitzel.

Happy Thursday ba. Into it w/ magnetic tape, ipa, Grimm. Nice and juicy with stone fruit notes.
