Good afternoon, all! I'm drinking Lion Bridge Olde No. 17 Irish Dry Stout at guess where, Cedar Falls, IA. LB is one of my favorite "local" breweries, with excellent offerings across a variety of styles. Olde No. 17 is roasty and bitter, with good carbonation, a substantial body, and a dry and roasty finish. BTG (Better Than Guinness). Slaínte!

Good afternoon, advocates. Having a Ruination while I watch a throwback Syracuse game from the 2013-2014 season. Thanks for everything, Jim Boeheim! Cheers.

    1) Junkyard Snowdogger Vienna (5.0%): A Vienna Lager from Minnesota with flavors of baked bread, honey, earthy honeyflower. Smooth and mildly sweet.
    versus
    2) Fair State Vienna Lager (5.3%): A Vienna Lager from Minnesota with flavors of baked bread, grains, some hints of yeast and floral/pine notes. Relatively dry and clean. (Mismatched the two blind)

    Winner:
    2) Fair State Vienna Lager:
Haven't done many Vienna lagers. Both of these are excellent and first try at Snowdogger. Nice baked bread, honeyflower, and toasted flavors. Leans slightly sweet. Fair State did this one top notch from beginning to end. Beautiful pour, great carbonation and soft mouthfeel, with all of the toasted and baked flavors in between. This brewery knows lagers.

The first time I ever had this beer, the aroma alone blew me away. Those were the 22oz bomber days. I have theories on why this beer isn't that beer, but I'll spare you the boredom. I'm enjoying this version, so that's all that matters. Ballast Point Sculpin. Legendary beer? I would say so. Peace...

A nice enough day that I actually want to enjoy a beer outside. Sunny Ridge seems a good choice.

@ChicagoJ - I wanted to do a version of that side-by-side but the GF hasn’t replenished her stock of regular ZD recently. One of us can correct that soon, though.
