Bought a DeuS this year for New Year's...pretty hefty price tag but I figured it was a special occasion and wanted my first of the style to be a good one. Besides that one I'll probably down some random beers from my fridge.

Will probably be drinking a Bourbon County Coffee and then probably switching to Carton Brewing's Boat Beer or BDG afterwards. If there's enough people with me, I'll split another bottle of something nice for a midnight toast.

I'm gonna start off mellow, a few offeringd from Jack's Abbey. Then I think we'll move on to FW Double DBA, followed by Lighthouse's Dark Chocolate Porter. As we get a bit more serious a Rye Wyne Ale from Brau Bros, followed by either BCBCS or Cuir. Probably cap the evening with Melange #3 or Black Tuesday ('11 & '12, side by side).

We'll see how this evolves, or devolves depending on how many people want to imbibe with me. I really don't want to fly solo on this night.:grimacing:

if i head to a party as planned it'll be good-not-great stuff... loud, crowded locales don't make the best environments to enjoy one's gems IMO. (especially where other beverages - champagne, martinis, etc - are involved.) if babysitting falls through and i wind up at home, i'm thinking CBS, rochefort 10, and maybe a kiwi rising... possibly a bourbon nightcap, who knows? nice to have options.

DeuS is a pretty good choice, hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as I did!

    Firestone Walker 16th Anniversary Ale.

I started the year with the 14th Anniversary, and so far it's been a great year, so gonna stick with the tradition, and start another great year with a great brew.

I have cellared some Portsmouth Kate the Great that i will be having for the first time this New Years. All reviews i have read and the feedback i have received from people who are well more versed to the "beer game" than i, have told me i won't be dissapointed. Can't wait!

I had a homebrew / stout party a few weeks ago and heard a good joke:

What does Miller Lite and having sex in a canoe have in common?

They are both fucking close to water!

The last four New Years Eves I had a flu of some kind and didn't drink much.

If I stay healthy: La fin du monde or La maudite (or something similar), Port, champagne, sambuca, scotch.

killed off most of the holiday specials so what's left is a Pretty Things Baby Tree quad, Hoppin Frog Frosted Frog, FBS, maybe my Belgian Strong Dark homebrew which is just about ready...
