    OK my turn.

Well this is very nice. I was gonna say "the champaign of beer" but I think someone already used that.

Some really wonderful posts and photos here in this thread! Thank you all so much for sharing them. Very cool!

Wish I could have joined in with you in today's Orvalishesness, but it wasn't to be. Hoping to score a bottle or two next week though. Until then, Cheers to you!

A year old bottle for me, and it's in very fine form. The brett is showing a character that is as much floral as it is earthy. Hops still have some punch to them as well. Very much enjoying it!

Cracked an Orval - I don't currently have an Orval branded glass so using a St. Bernardus glass instead. Such a great beer.

Bottled 5/26/21. My second time having Orval. First being last year at a Belgian Bar in Madrid. Good unique beer. Glad to have a special day to enjoy it!

Brasserie d'Orval Orval Trappist Ale, bottled 3/22/22. I figured that using a big glass would allow a full pour, but no. That's a lot of head. Not sure what was going on with the focus on that picture.

Could not find a bottle after work tonight. This is a photo I never posted from 2021 Orval day. I can’t remember what was better but all were very good. The Rayon(2012 bottle)was still holding up well.

    Enjoy

I shouldn't need a "day" to be reminded to pick this up more often, it never disappoints. Cheers to all of you enjoying the "holiday!" This one was bottled April 21, 2022 so only 11 months old.

    Cheers!

Hey all, my wife and I are out of town visiting our daughter, so I brought the beer, but not my glass.

Amazingly bright after 500 miles in the car this weekend. Aroma is mild bretty pineapple, funk and floral. The taste is pale malt, mild funk and nice, crisp hop bitterness. Definitely one of one.

Great job capturing the legendary head of Orval - I could use that on my shaving brush :stuck_out_tongue::sunglasses:

Bottled 12/14/21. Beautiful head, beautiful beer. Floral notes with a sweet bread finish. Smooth yet complex. Lot of fun scrolling through everyone’s thoughts! Cheers

Yeah, it's insanely carbonated so the wider the opening the better. That's why the goblet is the perfect choice.

I also considered my Duvel chalice, but the nucleation point really works against this beer.

Great capture. The head on the the right is insane. It's like a freakin' porridge there. :+1:
