    I have a spot along a local reservoir that during dry spells exposes a small hillock along the original large stream that feeds the lake. The place is bristling with artifacts that I have dated back at least 6500 years. I have found bird points there that are 500 or so years old. The spot has been peopled for millennia. I have often wondered and imagined what intoxicants these indigenous inhabitants concocted from the wild.

    Got back from a replenishment beer run. The beer emporium had its sliding glass auto opening doors blown off the hinges but the exit ones work.

    The two top beers are new and recommended by one of the stores gurus. Excited to try the Belgian Style from Crystal Springs- Naughty Marilyn (local) and the Reuben's Crikey IPA (Washington). The Gansett and Double Dunkel are faves of mine for their respective categories.

    I have not had Gansett in decades until recently. Yet, I think I had a more than a few $2 happy hour pitchers at the campus pub at U.R.I.

    This bottle of Sensibility from Blackberry Farm / Stillwater Artisanal must be 5-6 years old, and despite a great nose it past its peak. Oh well, it's still beer. I'm just glad I made it to the weekend.

    Aozora - Tenya Pale Ale

    Delicious APA from a local brewpub here in Fukuoka. So far all the Kyushu beers I've had have been very balanced but this one is a bit more American, with the hops coming through in a very un-Japanese way.
