    Stone used to have a brewery in in Berlin. That place is bought couple of years ago by BrewDog I believe. Selling craft beer (with a heavy price-tag) in Germany is somewhat of an up hill battle I can imagine.
    It was great to meet in person in Amsterdam. You both took the effort to travel up here. Some extra beer was a small thing in return :slight_smile:

    Yes ans yes! While a good idea on paper, a Stone brewery - and an expensive one over in Germany couldn’t really work. Never really been to Germany but I enjoy many of their beers/beer styles.

    Ah, it was a slight effort looking back. My wallet and that of my partner took a big blow especially for the Thalys train, otherwise no regrets about it… cheers!

    Enjoying Rye So Serious from Good Word. @ATL6245 , love the rye spiciness of this beer, definitely the most rye forward i think i have ever had!
    Listening to a "Cool Jazz Moods" playlist on YT Radio. Gotta love the Cool!

    Just popped open a crowler of Jalapeno Kolsch - delicious. Bready followed by jalapeno flavor, smells like a fresh jalapeno. They told me they use 15 lbs of jalapenos - seeds and all. I'll be working on this one for a while.

    1) Bad Weather Munich Helles (5.0%): A German Helles Lager from Minnesota with flavors of sweet bread malt, earthy honeycomb, with a light toasted note. Sweet and smooth.
    versus
    2) Utepils Helles (5.1%): A German Helles Lager from Minnesota with flavors of pale Munich bread malts. Earthy, yeasty, with a touch of floral hops. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Bad Weather Munich Helles: A German Helles Battle from up north. Utepils makes a fantastic helles lager. Complex honey and authentic Munich malt flavors with a touch of flower. Bad Weather gets the win today. It's a more robust beer with heavier and sweeter flavors which I normally wouldn't like. But it back it up with a flavorful honey profile with just a touch of toastedness. Any stronger and could confuse it for a maibock or festbier. Both are impressive helles lagers.

    Made a grocery/beer run today, my car told me it was 93°. Official rainfall for McHenry in May was .32 of an inch. I can't believe I will have to water the grass/weeds in June. I guess I'll have to Hop Skip and jump in the lake. I hate summer! Speaking of that.....Brickstone's Hop Skip is just fine!
